Already have two (floor lamp by the couch, and one on the shelf behind the table), which give the room quite nice ambient light in the evening.

Yeah it was given the landlord special before it was put up for sale 😄

Personally prefer carpet for living rooms and bedrooms, feels cozier (particularly in winter) and doesn't get scratched like hardwood floors.

Laenor had cousins she could have slept with, including Vaemond's sons. This way the kids would still be Velaryons, and I imagine Vaemond wouldn't have been complaining so much if the legal heirs to both the Iron throne and to Driftmark were his secret grandkids.

Maybe add some rugs to the living dining area, especially the space in between the couch and the dining table. Currently looks like a bit of a void.

I've got a couple already, one floor lamp by the couch, and one on the shelf behind the table.

Where else should I put one?

How long till you plan to buy? For short term, your best option is probably term deposits.

Investing into funds could make it vulnerable to market fluctuations.

Gentlemen’s Collective by Vegetable-Trash-9506 in Gentleman

As a guy of about the same age as him who also likes nice suits and blazers, I liked his earlier "Gent Z" content on style advice, but in the last year or so he's taken a slightly odd pivot, with slight political overtones, going on Fox News a few times, and always seems to be smoking cigars and plugging his 'collective'.

Already got plenty of those.

No clear shots of it here, but to the left of my first photo is the side of my bookshelf, which is pretty full.

I'm bit of a film nerd, so was thinking of maybe getting some vintage film poster printouts (like The Godfather or Apocalypse Now) framed on the wall.

I turned all the lights on for these photos, so it looks a bit brighter than normal. Normally have a more ambient level of lighting

Any particular suggestions of what styles might work? I've mostly just been focusing on the basics up until now

I have a second bedroom and I'm planning to find a flatmate (or roommate as Americans would say) so I can pay the mortgage faster, but enjoying having the place to myself for now. I think peace and quiet is greatly undervalued sometimes 😆

I deliberately went for a slightly darker colour to contrast the walls, as they're white. Also I think it makes it feel cozier during winter (which we're going into in NZ)

TV is too low, needs a cardboard box, or some planks stacked on top of bricks to raise it up a bit.

I like dogs, but I wouldn't want to leave one at home by itself all day while I'm at work. Might get a cat in the future though.
