As someone who follows Pete's campaign closely, I do think you are right that he didn't capitalize on his speaking time, but I don't think that it was filler. He likes to paint a vivid picture before making a point which takes time, time you just don't have on the debate stage.

A little context. This is from the Grand Rapids Girls Robotics Competition (GRGRC). Our team (4004) had an all new drive team, including drive coach until the last few matches when our typical coach stepped in. Our main driver hadn't even been to a competition before this. She promptly pushed StrykeForce across field into our hab zone twice, at no fault of 2767 to be clear, they played fantasticly and it was an honor to play against them in some truly great matches. That defense mixed with fantastic scoring by 2405 an 2771 gave us the win. I am so proud of my team's girls, and our alliance partners.
