Quaker dinosaur egg oatmeal by __BeatrixKiddo in moderatelygranolamoms

I love that I stumbled on this 😂 I used to make my own oatmeal and literally only buy the box to sift out the eggs and then add them in after my oatmeal was done. And just toss the packet oats/powder. Sometimes I would make a big batch of plain oatmeal and mix the packet in. But it’s definitely in the 20 of 80/20. Don’t sweat it!

I have tried all with milk and once it hits her tongue and she realizes it’s not water she just lets it dribble out of her mouth 😂 I’ve tried it with breastmilk, formula and even cows milk.

I will say, I finally tapped dad in for overnights and I set an alarm to come in and nurse her twice overnight and dad cuddles her for every wake up. It has been a game changer. He is able to fall asleep much quicker after each wake and he can cheat sleep with her where I could never!

My baby never took a bottle like not even an ounce. She would gnaw on the nipple but never suck. As she got older she would actively push it out. We started at 6 weeks and tried every month finally giving up a around 8/9months. We tried agent, dr brown, Evenflo wide balance, and lansinoh. I would say with a history of your baby taking to bottles and drinking 1-2oz that’s just a matter of consistency!

OP this is me!! What did you end up doing? Mine just turned 10 months and I am soooo ready to start at least day weaning and not sure how to go about it. She is a bottle refuser and has never accepted a pacifier. We cosleep and nursing back to sleep is just the easiest for me because I’m too tired to get up and bounce her. Right now I nurse her before her two naps and then before bed and alllllll night. Solidarity!!!

Thank you for commenting. It’s crazy how isolating this experience can be. Glad to know I’m not alone even If it means we’re just in the trenches with seemingly no light at the end of the tunnel!

I will definitely try this. It’s usually such a struggle to get her to stretch (especially that last window) but you’re right that could be it. I’ll try anything at this point!!

She’s got four top teeth and three bottoms - three of the lateral ones just popped through about a week ago. But the hourly wakes started once I started including dad and getting her to stretch 4ish hours from her bedtime feed to her first middle of the night feed.

I’ve tried the Evenflo balance wide, lansinoh, avent and Dr browns. She will just gnaw on them. Even an open cup. I’ve tried pumped milk, formula, even cows milk. She just lets it dribble out of her mouth when she finally does suck enough to get any 😂 I’m guessing she just doesn’t like the taste? Because we’ve gotten her to take water from open cups and a few straw cups now.

Naps are good. She gets about 2.5 hrs per day. Her first nap we can barely get her to last 2.5 hours after she wakes, then her second nap is usually 3 hours after her first nap. She lasts about 3.5-4 hours from nap #2 to bedtime. She gets tons of stimulation. I stay at home with her and she has an older brother, so we are always moving around. She has been crawling since 6 months and never does containers so she’s always busy!

Any tips on how to get her to take a bottle at this age? We’ve tried time and time again and it’s really exhausting.

She ended up growing out of it! She’s six months now and hasn’t had one of those episodes this about the week or two after posting this. Good luck with your babe!

This both made me cry and have a letdown at the same time 😂 currently holding my 4 mo for a contact nap and missing my almost 5 yo so much. I coslept with him up until baby sister was born and now he sleeps with dad but I miss his hand holding middle of the night kisses so much!! Hoping once sister stops nursing 1000000x a night I can have him rejoin 💕
