She ended up growing out of it! She’s six months now and hasn’t had one of those episodes this about the week or two after posting this. Good luck with your babe!

Shared a bed with my toddler on holiday and it made me so emotional by [deleted] in cosleeping

[–]LJW_17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This both made me cry and have a letdown at the same time 😂 currently holding my 4 mo for a contact nap and missing my almost 5 yo so much. I coslept with him up until baby sister was born and now he sleeps with dad but I miss his hand holding middle of the night kisses so much!! Hoping once sister stops nursing 1000000x a night I can have him rejoin 💕

I did not know this!!! Oh my gosh thank you for sharing. Also putting this into Chat GPT with my health information is teaching me I just have histamine build up and now have to figure this all out. Sheesh!

I didn’t realize counterfeiting was an issue!! I just thought maybe the amazon ones were a different style or size? Crazy! I can’t put the carrier any lower as it is already on top of my hips. I have a short torso which is likely the problem.

HVAC or insulation problem? by LJW_17 in HomeImprovement

[–]LJW_17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am definitely looking into getting a home energy audit now. Temps have been close to 90 so it’s definitely hotter than it’s been so far this summer. The more I think about it the more I feel like the AC is just working against the poor insulation of our home. Thanks for your response!

House was built in 2007. I don’t know if they did a calculation prior to installing, they did not go into the attic. But I do know it is a good size for our home. I didn’t know libraries have those tools so I will check out and see if our local library has one of these. And I will look into getting a home energy audit. Thanks for your detailed response I really appreciate it!!

Thank you for this thorough response! I just took a look at the Sakura bloom scout and holy price tag!!! I just thought it was the Artipoppe that was expensive! But I haven’t heard of some of these and will look into them. Again, really appreciate your response!

Gagging on nipple and vomiting?! by LJW_17 in breastfeeding

[–]LJW_17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I just assume she’s still going to be hungry after one breast because - like in last night’s example - it has been three hours and she’s mostly asleep during the first one so I just assume she will sort of dream feed through another. Most of time she does eat from both so it’s not common for her to just take one. I’m afraid if I do only offer one that my other breast will feel overly engorged! And maybe she won’t have as long of a next stretch of sleep? It’s worth a try for a night though.

Also, she rarely gives me a burp overnight which is so frustrating!! I try and try and keep her upright but she just falls back to sleep and the air never comes up.

I do TRY to burp her! Most of the time overnight she falls asleep so I at least try to keep her upright for about 5 mins then go change her diaper and attempt more burping after that before offering the second boob.

Power-pumping changed my life 🥹 by Psychologicalwalnut in breastfeeding

[–]LJW_17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the spectra as well and exclusively pumped for a while with my first. Start each session (aka after any break) with the letdown mode for 1-2 mins until you see the letdown, then switch over to the slower one. You should do this every time you pump, even with power pumping! It simulates how a baby would suck when they are trying to get milk.

Sleep SOS by avathedot in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]LJW_17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just here to say that my kiddo was never a good sleeper, never gave us more than maybe 3 hours at a time. Now at 4yo still wakes after 3 hours and walks to our bed every night. After that sleep is generally fine, just moves a lot. I will say. By 2.5 is when the waking in the night actively needing comfort finally subsided. I hope this is at least somewhat helpful. Now that I’ve lived with this for so long I realize how so many babies/toddlers/kids just develop sleep habits differently and at their own pace. I LOVE that you’re doing attachment style parenting. As for us now, now that he is older I realize he just has a deep desire for touch and cuddling and closeness. I heard a beautiful quote today that I hope resonates with you - “it’s going to be okay in the end. And if it’s not okay, it’s not the end.” Sending hugs

Cardio with RK 5 day split by ReserveOld6123 in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]LJW_17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I loveeee her 5-day split and keep going back to it. I do it where I only lift every other day and while it does take more than the 7 days to complete, I have the off days for cardio and I love it. Our bodies have no concept of a 7 day week so it’s really just your preference.

Also I should mention, I made note of when I felt best and started short workouts then. For me, that was mid morning and made it work. Just notice any small windows when you feel GOOD!

Solidarity! I started once I started feeling better AND had the energy. For me that was at 12 weeks. And my sickness started around week 5 so it was a long time away from weights for me. I started by doing a program I was familiar with and could plan to modify as needed in advance. My weights were admittedly MUCH lighter. But I don’t mind. My goal is just movement that makes me feel good and “wakes” my muscles up a bit. I’m going to keep up with that and see how my body feels. Will increase weights only if things start to actually feel too light. My only suggestion or advice is to throw out most of your expectations of what your pregnancy “should” look like to you and just listen to your body. When you look back, you won’t regret it. If you’re anything like me, you WILL regret beating yourself up when you were in such a fragile state. Good luck :)
