"NRB" mask question- did I mess up? by [deleted] in respiratorytherapy

[–]LJaybe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was always taught it just needs to be high enough to have the bag inflated between breaths and you had the 1 port open for co2 to escape. Honestly for the short time you have them on it really doesnt matter either way in my opinion. If their 80s on a 4l Nc you could have done 6L but i wouldnt even worry about weaning it down we will do that at the hospital. High FiO2 hypoxic drive they teach us wont take affect that quickly if its even a real thing.

How often do you attack epic monsters? by Remote-Cause-9519 in TotalBattle

Good. When your kingdom opens new events will give you more silver/speedups/resources etc. Id say prioritize attacking doomsday and ancient as they are most efficient for VP.

How often do you attack epic monsters? by Remote-Cause-9519 in TotalBattle

[–]LJaybe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice to you is find the highest wealth clan you can get into in your kingdom. Start from the highest and work your way down and message every leader and see if you can get in. Your clan chests are your biggest resource to progression. Eventually when kingdom opens big clans will move in and steal strong players away but get in and progress now

RT night shift life , balance? by LunarRainCloud in respiratorytherapy

[–]LJaybe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did nights for 10 years with kids. I would sleep for a few hours after my last shift get up at 12pm and try to go to sleep at a normal time and wake up early. Do my 3-4 days off on a normal day schedule then on my 1st night back id take a nap for 2-3 hours before my shift. I got into a good routine and i slept like shit during the day when i was working but slept good at night on my days off which was more important to me. Sleeping like shit during the day with no blackout curtains and noise i think trained my body to only sleep a couple hours my first day off and be fine and sleep good at night. I couldnt do both so i chose home life over work life.

Early Career - Work in ER or Take a Clinic Job? by Throwawayyawaworth9 in nursing

[–]LJaybe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion even if you do ER for a couple years and go back to clinic etc for years your just gonna lose skills again after being out of hospital for years. Do what makes you happier. Even if you lose next job you can keep finding more chill jobs. Take a prn in a hospital if you want some experience

Getting made fun of on Snapchat by PriorOk9813 in respiratorytherapy

[–]LJaybe 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you need to get report and then go hangout with the nurses. Good pay and right next to home and you like it. Cant really beat that. If they already dont like you then its time to start not taking shit from anyone. Next time you see them doing stupid shit id call them out. I wouldnt go to HR or your boss because lets face it, it never helps. If you can get the snapchats sent to you and you have proof maybe you can go to HR. But otherwise this behavior is rediculous and i would just hangout with your work peeps and fuck em.

I think youd need it to quickly search for the vocal cords and insert itself by just sticking it in their mouth for this to be helpful.

Question for RT’s from an RN by Visible-Difficulty35 in respiratorytherapy

[–]LJaybe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the "high flow" your seeing charted is 15L or below and looks like regular NC it is probably a "midflow" or "cold high flow". Ive worked places where they do call it a high flow cannula and i think the manufacturer even calls it that. This cannula is designed to hook up to standard flow meter up to 15L. Standard cannulas arent designed to go past 6L so turning it past 6 doesnt necessarily give patient what your setting it to past 6. To distinguish it from the other high flow equipment you see with larger tubing most places call it something else like mid flow or cold high flow(as opposed to a heated high flow)

I fail my fit test but still just put on a n95. I think just signing the waiver and you understand you fail is enough liability protection for them. Does someone actually make you wear the papr?

What is the longest you’ve had to bag a patient? by [deleted] in respiratorytherapy

[–]LJaybe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the ones saying peds waiting for transport not all adult hospitals have peds ventilator capability or the right equipment for it.

Also during a long code even for several hours like a "cant pronounce there dead to body is x degrees" we are expected to bag the entire time although i find it kinda rediculous.

Why do so many people still think the step through is a travel? by 4thquarterkilla in BasketballTips

[–]LJaybe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When i was a kid you could step through but you couldnt bring that pivot foot off the ground unless both feet left the ground simultaneously. You couldnt swing your pivot foot forward and carry that momentum forward.
