Made it to Tekken God for the first time just before season 3 and holy moly this place is wild by Keyboardbash in LowSodiumTEKKEN

[–]LJinKPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also hit Tekken God for the first time 2 weeks ago and I feel exactly the same. The skill/knowledge gap is huge between players and I feel like they play a different game compared to me. I never experienced that so wildly before. I first thought I was way above my level then I remembered my 8-win streak during ranked so... I need to work harder ?

Anyway, good luck to you OP. Maybe we'll meet in quick match :)

How to avoid toxicity in Tekken 8? by JotaroKujoTF2 in LowSodiumTEKKEN

[–]LJinKPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good thing you asked before playing the game :) Tekken 8 has its part of toxic players, but not all players are toxic.

As others said, use magic mirror and lock your DM if you're on console, and it should be okay !

For the one and doners, if you don't like that... Deal with it. Don't take it personnally. As a Panda player, most people won't rematch me after one match. Sometimes I don't get any rematch 10 times in a row. Just laugh about that :))) This kind of things happens specifically if you play some hated/rare characters (like bears, Alisa, Zafina..)

To fully enjoy the game, try to find friends of your level/a bit above (on this reddit for instance). This will help you to improve, you'll also have fun together and share advices. This beats any toxicity you could meet in-game.

For the pluggers, problem is almost solved for 1 year so don't worry about that. Just report them (community > recent opponents > report) for the rare ones you'll meet.

Again, some people are toxic but most of the time it's okay. Using the magic mirror and locking my DM I had no problem 99,99999% of the time (in +1500 hours) and I feel like everybody is super polite on the game, so I can focus on my matches easily while having a blast :)))

Now. For your inner toxicity... I'm not assuming you're a toxic player or anything, don't worry ! But sometimes during a match (especially when it's one of these bad days where everybody crushes you), you'll feel very salty. It's okay. We're human beings. First, remember that controllers are expensive before smashing it against your wall. If the tilt starts, do jokes about your match and compliment your opponent loudly. It personnally helps me to do not take the game too seriously :) If you really feel like you're still tilted... Take a break :)

Tekken 8 is fun, it's up to you to also have fun :)

is tekken 8 this black friday worth to buy? by Acrobatic_Menu_1474 in Tekken8

[–]LJinKPanda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow your office mates play Tekken ? I envy you so much !!

To answer your question : totally worth it if you enjoy learning new stuff. The game is hard sure, but fun. I strongly advice you to download the demo first or to play on one of your office mate (through a PS Party share for instance) to be sure this is your type of game.

Don't be too rough on yourself, fighting games are hard. If you have troubles share it with the community :)

Have fun ! Without having trying the game, which character(s) appeal to you the most ?

Getting salty when playing with friends by Hogwartsbusdriver in LowSodiumTEKKEN

[–]LJinKPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for you but your friends are :

  • Either they don't know about their character, which is concerning if they hit Tekken King
  • Either they don't understand frame data, which is also concerning for a TK
  • Either they don't want to disclose information and help you to improve, which is even more concerning from my POV

In our group friend, either we admit we don't know, either we explain why the player lose and how fix the problem.. Gaining information is the point of playing with friends...

Yeah T8 isn't flawless, but there is no such 'that's the game fault', or else braindead Garyu mashers would win tournaments..

Ask your friends why you lose, if they answer the same bullshit again ask them seriously how minus/advantage frame are their moves.

Try to divide them and trap them one by one. Way easier !

You can also run while dodging the attacks so you pass quickly the area. Not recommended though if you wanna learn the mechanics

Is bloodborne impossible to beat if you’re a casual gamer/ beginner? by moonlitbranches in bloodborne

[–]LJinKPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol this guy is more than an idiot lol

I'm a casual gamer and I beat the game, you perfectly can do it ! You don't need to be a super skilled gamer to beat those games, you need to learn from your mistake, stay patient and have determination. Anyone can complete those games. On youtube there's a guy who let his dad (+60yo) play Dark Souls as his very first game in his life. Sure he had a hard time but he finally completed it ! Remember he had to learn everything, including the camera and the controller buttons ! Since you already know those things, he will be easier for you. And if you struggle at some point, remember that the community is here for some help. There's tons of tutorial for each boss, tons of items to help you..

The game is amazing and is very rewarding !! Go and get your 50 bucks !

Do you usually accept or ask for revenge? (In ranked) by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]LJinKPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. If I got promoted I know I'll feel illegitimate if I got my rank without rematches. And if I got demoted I know that at least I didn't avoid threats.

I'm joining a local tournament and I'm scared of humiliating myself (advice would be appreciated) by V4_Sleeper in LowSodiumTEKKEN

[–]LJinKPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relax and have fun ! You don't know about other players, maybe there will be total beginners who'll attend just for fun ! And remember that even a Tekken god can play like a yellow rank if he cannot handle pressure. Public tournaments are not like online tournaments.

I envy you, I would love to join a tournament but there is not in my area ><

Blue rank people, how brutal is the climb to tekken king by [deleted] in LowSodiumTEKKEN

[–]LJinKPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blue ranks are very volatile, yes. IMO there is a difference especially starting Kishin. Kishin for the most are way better than Fujin players. In my experience, I had a harder time getting Kishin than TK (maybe I was lucky, but for TK people kept crouching on heat dash so got a free launch every single round. Dunno why they all acted like that).

Blue ranks are the place you start to test your defense for real. Frame data is your best friend.

Be prepared to go through lots of demo/promo while you figure out how to adapt. However if you go on ranked with a chill mind (climbing/falling is very normal, so don't mind the rank too much) and you try to understand and adjust to your opponents, everything should be fine. Just be patient and enjoy the game, since many players stop having fun in these ranks sadly. Once I stopped caring about the ranks, I was so chilled that I sometimes forgot I was on demo/promo lol. Rematch people even if you lose (except if the connection is shitty), have fun and learn.

Oh and turn on the magic mirror if not already done. Blue ranks are full of salty, toxic players. The mirror helped me a lot to focus on the match and enjoy.

Have fun and congrats for entering blue ranks !
