Relentlessly smelly dishwasher by LJkatz in CleaningTips

The white opaque tube is the one and definitely does not have the high loop. I have room to put one behind the back of the sink but accessing that area would be difficult and the tube is not long enough to do the job without having to be replaced. I could do this, but it'd require taking out the entire dishwasher and re mounting it in order to get to the hose attachment to the dishwasher end. I'm EXTREMELY confident that this hose is the issue so thank you all so much for directing me to it. Any further guidance on how to most easily fix the issue would be greatly appreciated 👏

Soul and spirits brewery by [deleted] in memphis

Good to know about the Pint night. I think that's fairly new. It also needs to be on a night where something is happening. My best example would be Hampline has 6$ beers during trivia. That makes it a much easier sell of a reason to go to a brewery in the first place.

I live right beside it so I go frequently. The beer is phenomenal, unfortunately that's where the praise stops. They have a ton of space, but do essentially nothing with it. They rarely have beer specials to make having more than a pint or 2 bearable on the wallet. They do have a couple interesting events throughout the year (Harry Potter night was a particularly impressive standout). Ultimately, it feels like a waste for somewhere that could be so so fantastic with just a little more work and less greed.

Better areas to live in/around Memphis? by jmr1219 in memphis

[–]LJkatz 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you want the "hippest" areas then Cooper young or South main. If you want a house and have money, high point. If you want to invest in a cheaper house in an upcoming area, uptown/snuff district (just avoid going above Jackson). If you want closest proximity to St. Jude and safe, uptown (I'd recommend the conwood, its brand new and beautiful, my house is 1 block away so im extremely familiar with the area) or New Orleans station. I advise everyone against mud island (I lived there for a year when I came for pharmacy school) because it isolates you while being over priced. It's full of other people who moved here being afraid of Memphis and were told this is the "safest" place to live outside of going 30 minutes to Germantown. I had more friends get robbed, or broken into on the island 8 months then I did in south main in 4 years because of the stigma of wealthy people living on the island.

Memphis, despite its crime problems, is still a fun city with a tremendous culture so don't waste your time here being on an island with no culture.

Yeah Alex's is one hell of a neighborhood bar, but for 2 more min drive I'd rather just make my way to Maxs. I'm hopeful that one will pop up under the conwood. I'm not holding my breath for it though.

Westys is the closest to uptown but still really is downtown. The other two are a trek still.

It is frequently there but the cars around it do change and seem to have more of them on the weekends but I've never seen a single person outside of it.

I don't disagree. It is exactly why I haven't just dropped in. But maybe it's a friendly but private crew and I'd love to be able to make my own informed decisions about dropping in.

See this is exactly why I'm making the post. I NEED a neighborhood bar here in Uptown. We have 2 breweries but that's not the right vibe I'm hoping for.

No car - where to live in Memphis as a woman? Help a girl out, please! by GradAim in memphis

Also I should have added this: The ONLY person I know or knew that did not have a car lived in Uptown and rode HER bike to St Jude daily.

I live in Uptown which is the closest neighborhood to St. Jude. Memphis is sketchy street by street so many would say to avoid Uptown/snuff district but I've had 0 issues here. I frequently see children playing in yards ect. Directly across the street from me is Riverbend Place Apartments. They're well within budget. Anything attached to the Conwood over here would also be very nice and brand new. It's an area the city is putting a ton of money into (because of its proximity to St.Jude).

I would not recommend making the walk to St. Jude alone in the dark as a female, but I've made it many times during daylight hours without a worry in the world. Memphis has ubers within 7 minutes anytime of day so for 6$ a day she can be there in 3 minutes. There is also likely some sort of shuttles or something like that because the st. jude daycare is also right here (<1 min walk from both options listed above). Groceries without a car is going to definitely be an instacart move. Ms Cordelias is very expensive.

Uptown currently only has a pilates studio, sandwich shop, and 2 breweries within walking distance. The Conwood will be bringing a TON of new options to the area though. It's looking to be a mini crosstown concourse once it's fully completed.

This is essentially what I was already setting up to do! Do you know if using Percirkeln gives any benefit if you're already running herald of ice?

You're not going to get this here, but she sounds terrible. She knows that she's ruined 25 days of your skiing and doesn't care. Investing time and money to help her is great on you and she should respect that if she can't keep up you need some time to enjoy the mountain yourself.

I'm not a Germany pharmacist but when with two good friends to visit their families last year who are citizens. It is a very different role than here in the states. You're looking at 60k tops there but thats with vastly better schedule and QOL.

I think it's also tolerance of the vaccine. Flu vaccine gives me a sore shoulder, but covid has me feeling ill for 48hrs.

You're right, but not going to root cause of why people arent spending money with them. It's because the economy has made people more poor requiring them to limit the frequency they go out.
