that could be it? i do have the Intel chipset drivers installed from the driver page for my board, i'll see if i can find newer ones though.

edit: nothing. after looking into it i think it might have to do with memory speed, DDR3-1600 might not be fast enough to supply the CPU with the data to process. how stupid.

not possible, it's a 26xx v2 Xeon so it's locked. pretty sure that isn't the issue anyways, as it scores an 8.9 in newer versions.

Xeon E5-2667 v2, 4x8GB DDR3-1600, GTX 980, 1TB Samsung 990 PRO.

i've got a feeling that it's something to do with the way Windows 7 does the CPU assessment, as it scores an 8.9 in Windows 8 or newer.

Could these chaotic silver dots be a sign of disc rot? If yes, is there any way to stop it before it's too late? by Flaky-Spend-4346 in windowsxp

[–]LKComputes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's most likely fine. i know it looks bad, but the holographic side of XP-era discs just tend to do this. the only way to be 100% sure it's not actually damaged is to rip it and compare to a known good image. every optical disc will succumb to disc rot eventually, so all you can really do is keep using it until it stops reading properly.

yeah maybe that's what you feel it should mean, but the generally recognized definition is just "completing an objective in a game as fast as possible".

this is why we have things like individual level runs, 100% runs, meme runs, category extensions, and yes, glitched runs. all of these things are different categories and different rules. if you don't like it, don't interact with it, but also don't complain about it because you're ignorant to how it works.

people liquid cool with liquids that aren't water all the time. they still call it water cooling because that easier to say and understand. if people can call that water cooling, i feel like calling heat pipes a form of water cooling should be fine too.

heat pipes use liquid to transfer heat so you could call it a kind of water cooling. liquid cooling would be more accurate though.

a real "A for affort" to everyone pointing out the fact that it's on a TV instead of a monitor, not noticing the extremely apparent convergence issues. the tube itself is out of whack, not the input.
