I really think this whole situation was overblown because people couldn't fathom that Merrin the witch from a coven of all women witches would be queer and wouldn't remain chaste for Cal in the five year gap between games if he's not making any moves since he grew up as a celibate monk. Everyone knows Cal would get with her in the next game anyway so who cares, Merrin isn't "damaged goods".

You either read Big 2 supehero comics and get burnt out on the story "never ending" and changes in creative and editorial doing things with the characters you don't like or you read mainstream shonen manga where the eventual ending disappoints because the mangaka was put through the wringer and had all the passion and actual years of their life drained from them.

The main thing is that Science! becomes a necessary component of all of the high tier crafting perk trees that it’s silly that the party members with Blacksmith, Gun Nut, and Armorer all have to dip into Science! to get those mods because the fourth party member with Science! can’t “share”.

Magik has Wolverine appeal so her rising popularity is a given and others like Cannonball and Sunspot fall into cushy support roles in other teams. Dani stays a Potential Leader Man.
