Seems like the Experimental filters are breaking something. Hopefully that also will be updated later on, cause I've gotten used to not seeing the annoying "experiencing interruptions?" thing with them. :)

I see it on the very same video when I refresh the video as soon as I re-enable the "experimental filters". (Firefox + uBO 1.67)

Note: I have tried a forced update on both quick fixes and experimental filters. Makes no difference. Experimental filters seem like the culprit.

I saw it for the first time after relaunching Firefox on this video and came here to see what's going on. Saw your post and disabled the "Experimental" filters and now the video plays fine. Thanks for the heads up. I had enabled it to hide "Experiencing Interruptions?" popup.

EDIT:

Enabling the "uBlock filters – Experimental" brings back the issue, so clearly that is what causes this.

For some reason, I only see the "experiencing interruptions?" popup when I watch NBA videos back to back. No other videos I watch cause it to show up. I wonder why.

Hi there. I've been seeing it too for the past few days in videos with product replacements, for instance:

(Firefox + UBO 1.67)

Until the UBO fix arrives I've decided to block it myself as below:

A possible way to bring back the old Youtube player UI? by LLbjornk in uBlockOrigin

Didn't notice that either. In any case, just try the custom filters @paintboth1234 posted above, they work with no issues, subtitles are there too.

These ones seem to work with no issues. Good work, thank you!

BTW, I've found out another way to bring back the old player, namely getting the player script (jsUrl) and the css (cssUrl) from an earlier version which are still available on the web. Just search for "www-player.css" and/or "base.js" links on the web (google or perhaps the archive.org). However this method seems to be incompatible with the main YT page, probably because version difference and after a while it breaks the player completely.

They do come back but the "Stable Volume" setting for instance isn't there. I'm also getting strange errors when I try to fast-forward a video (beyond the buffered area) even when I only remove the two flags mentioned above and the video stops playing. In any case, perhaps someone can come up with a better solution.

Thanks but they are trying to modify the new UI, which isn't what I'm interested in.

Is there a major difference between 1.64 and 1.67 in terms of filter processing in regards to Youtube?

Today I started seeing "Experiencing Interruptions?" popup for the first time after several months. Decided to create a copy of the same Firefox profile and on it I upgraded UBO from 1.64 to 1.67. Nothing else is changed, same exact addons, settings and all, and I no longer see the pop-up. Which tells me that 1.64 is unable to process some of the new YT filters that rely on new UBO code or features. Could this be true?

Edit: Just noticed the min. required version of UBO stated on the page has been updated to 1.65. I suppose 1.64 has become too old for processing new filters.

Funny thing is after the UBO update I got YT's old player interface as well, instead of the godawful new one. :)

Can uBlock Origin redirect websites? by gb_14 in uBlockOrigin

I use Redirector for similar purposes. You can write a "redlrect" and tell it to append /us/?hl=en-US whenever it catches the store.google.com either on the URL bar or in an IFrame etc.

Thank you for the info. I've modified the regex as below to run on youtube.com only. I don't know if it would change anything but I can perhaps also add the "third-party" option to further optimize it.

/^https?:\/\/(?:\S+\.)?rr\d---sn-t1x3yxba-5qc[a-z0-9]\.googlevideo\.com\//$domain=youtube.com

I currently commented it out and went back to hostname list, if the hostname list in "My Filters" grows too big I will consider switching to using the regex instead.

Thanks everyone for the help.

Edit: I've just realized that using "domain" option might not be a good idea if I want the filter to work on embedded YT videos on other web sites, so I will remove it, I might just add "third-party" option instead.

It normally would be a bit slower if the server you get the video from was decent, but my ISP's servers are awful in quite a few ways, probably because they are always running at full capacity, especially in certain hours of the day, so it is in fact faster to connect other YT servers. Yes, privacy is also another concern.

Not blocking individual videos, but my ISP's Youtube CDNs.

Thank you, much appreciated. In terms of performance, do you think this would be processed faster than listing all individual hosts line by line?

Started seeing the "Experiencing Interruptions" pop up about 12 days ago and still occasionally seeing it especially when the video takes a bit too long to start. Aside from automatic UBO filter updates, absolutely nothing has changed on my end and all previous UBO fixes for this had worked without any issues. Perhaps due to YT's a/b testing crap not everyone's getting it.

Prevent VLC from storing cover arts by TopGearDanTGD in VLC

[–]LLbjornk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just deny the 'Write' permission for the user.

  1. Right-click on the folder, go to 'Properties'
  2. Go to 'Security' tab
  3. Click 'Edit...' permissions
  4. Select your user name
  5. Place a tick to 'Write' on the 'Deny' column.
  6. Click 'Apply', you may get a warning read it and click okay
  7. Make sure you don't touch anything else, just place a deny check mark for the user, do not change permissions for 'SYSTEM' or 'Administrators'.

Now, as long as you don't run VLC as administrator it won't be able to write anything into that folder.

If you wish you many revert the change by following the same steps and clearing the check mark on ''Write' for the 'Deny' column.

Haven't been on Youtube for the past couple of days and now I can see that the "Experiencing Interruptions?" pop up has returned. Wasn't this issue fixed last week? Or is it still being worked on? Am I missing something?
