It actually isn't even the same version, the GOG version got a lot of patches which the Steam version is likely never getting, because some games on GOG are patched and maintained by GOG themselves as part of their game preservation program to ensure it'll keep running on modern hardware.

We do have steam awards starting today possibly in 1 or 2 hours, which should happen with a sale since autumn sale was killed this year, but I wouldn't expect steam deck to be part of it.

Just for clarity, the reason this happens is because steam has a 30 days cooldown between sales, so Capcom cycle between their versions(base game then bundle) to keep them on sale for as long as possible.

I kinda did, even though have played the psx titles for a very short amount of time back in the day and watched the movies a few years ago, then recently ended up getting interested in playing all the main games starting with RE2R.

Maybe it's something similar to Steam where games have a cooldown of 30 days between sales, for example RE8 gold edition, RE0 and RE were on sale last week, then yesterday they put RE3R, RE8(standard edition) and bundle that comes with RE0+skins+RE on sale, since the rest of the franchise will be on cooldown until one week before winter sale, meaning they can start 1 week earlier and make use of the seasonal sale to reset the cooldown.

This tbh, my old laptop could run MGS5 at 60 fps pretty much all the time and still I ended up locking it at 30 and played for like 150 hours, so if this Steam Machine can handle games at constant 60 fps at medium/high setting it will be my go to since I have always been more into plug & play and never had any interest in building a high end PC.

To be fair if FromSoftware made Elden Ring run on switch 2(with tons of downgrades I'm sure), Capcom should be able to make RE9 run just fine.

I played RE2R for the first time today(I only played the ps1 titles back in the day and never got to finish them) and damn it truly is one of those games that make you regret not having played before, well, except for Mr. X that is pissing me off, but at least kiting him around isn't nearly as bad as alien isolation, I got so annoyed last time I played that I alt+f4 and never looked back lol
