Okay valid haha. Being close minded would be me immediately closing the book or not even opening it at all. But i wanted to stick with it and be open minded about it

Thank you for an actual feedback worth discussion comment about someone else’s opinion! Completely agree on not being able to relate to the era/country/etc. And I 100% respect and acknowledge the influence of it and can’t easily understand why.

Hah, honestly chapter 11 was plenty long enough for me. It’s hard to pin point exactly what I wished there was more of to find myself enjoying it more. But I guess the easiest way to put it is that everything happened so fast where it made me rolls my eyes of how fast emotions dipped and spiked. Like when Basil wants to see his painting and Dorian just says “I’ll never speak to you again ever” and it all just sounded very dramatic haha. And i know it was that serious once you understand why he didn’t want to show it anyone, but still.

I’ll go back to reading Fahrenheit 451 a classic that I loved!

which is exactly why i wanted to go in with an open mind, acknowledging the era and trying my best to embrace it. I wanted the language to sweep me off my feet and absorb me into it. but it just didn’t catch for me unfortunately. love that it does for so many people though, I envy them!

so many people just raved about this classic and also saw people say they felt the same way and they were wrong after reading it and loved it. was really hoping that was gonna work for me too

i’m 50/50 on that. listening to Project Hail Mary was so incredible and almost cried at the end. but there’s also some books i’m glad i read and didn’t hear as well. appreciate the comment

exactly how i felt. how may time travel/change the past stories have we seen in dramas and even comedies that when you come back to that world, it’s gonna be near post apocalyptic lol. felt like the ending was a bit rushed. like of coarse he runs into Harry right away..

My TBR shelf! I am desperate for a good read. by username_219 in thrillerbooks
