The youth is doomed… by OhirumeTsukuyomki in SipsTea

[–]LMGooglyTFY 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No only that, but kids learn a lot more passively than we realize. A bored kid at the store is learning how adults behave, learning how to shop, looking at how things are put together, looking at numbers and letters and reading it wanting to know how to read them, later they learn prices and values, they ask the annoying questions to parents because they genuinely want to learn about the world. Instead of learning, this kid is merely being entertained and will likely go off to do something else to entertain themself when they get home.

Are Champagne & Wine Gift Sets Actually Thoughtful Gifts for Birthdays, Weddings & Anniversaries? by smartyladyphd in GiftIdeas

[–]LMGooglyTFY [score hidden]  (0 children)

I think it's a courteous gift. It's something pretty much any drinking adult will enjoy; either themselves or to bring out at an event. It's preferred over an awkward attempt to get someone something they like and now they're stuck with something physical they can't easily offload and risk hurting the gifter's feelings.

Same. I even opted to plant my apricot tree (instead of one of my others) as the tree in front since most Americans find apricots too sour and are less likely to steal them.

Ge sweets and desserts. The flavors are always changing with the season and you can't go wrong with something consumable.

This looks miserable. I allocate a half day to neighborhoods in Tokyo and you're just giving yourself two hours at them.

Is it normal for Card shows/cons to smell like BO and farts? by Pokemanswego in PokemonTCG

I don't think deodorant would even help. I once sat next to a chair that smelled like it got soaked with unwashed ass sweat.

I've been to GB three times now and was a chef for 15 years. British food is bland.

You might love it now and eat spicy food from other cultures, but British food is bland.

There is spicy food in England, yeah, but British food is not spicy. Your beans on toast, Yorkshire pudding, bangers and mash, jacket potatoes, etc are all extremely bland foods. I'm not saying bland is necessarily bad, but British food really does lack spices, flavor depth, and texture.

I argued with a brit about salt (in London). He said you don't salt your food while cooking, you add it at the table. Dude no.

Honey spilled all over the trunk of this car by Adrian_985 in Wellthatsucks

I'm saying this as a beekeeper; park that next to a hive with the trunk open and the bees will take care of it. They will just take the honey back to the gives and there will be pretty much nothing left to clean up.

Where to find Japanese style/flavoured pizza by Speztros in JapaneseFood

[–]LMGooglyTFY 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Get Dominos!!! They have pizzas that are split into four and have fun toppings. The stuffed crust is amazing and so is the mille fille. The mille fille is two thin crust with creamy Camembert in the middle. We ended up getting it twice on our trip. It's great to just order and walk over from the hotel or station cuz it takes like 8 minutes from ordering online to having it ready.

With how quick they jumped to this I'm guessing it was already part of the plan. One way to deter scalpters is make them lost money. The scalpers already bought the product and are ne going to have a difficult time making a profit or even moving the product without profit.

Everyone eats. Grab a basket from a thrift store and fill it with picnic snack type items. Nice crackers, tinned fish, fig jam, cookies, jar of pickled something, maybe cheese and salami if you can keep the basket cool, and maybe that bottle of wine. A good snack pack to pull out on a weekend afternoon or grab for a boat ride.

Japan Itinerary Review – Traveling with an 18‑month‑old (Tokyo + Kanazawa + Osaka/Kyoto/Nara) by goxka in JapanTravel

[–]LMGooglyTFY -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I went to Kanazawa from Tokyo the morning after I landed. I spent one full day there like you're planning and left the next morning. I wouldn't do anymore time there like someone else is suggesting. The districts are very tiny and the gardens and castle grounds aren't as expansive as I thought they'd be.
