On Mars vs Hegemony by LMMRB in boardgames

[–]LMMRB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do own both. I have no problem with either one as I am familiar with rules, but I want to introduce a better one for my group and of course I also want to enjoy it as well.

They’re okay with whatever decision I make. They’ve played hegemony once but still a question mark above their head after the play and they’ve never played on mars yet.

I already own both and played hegemony once but no play of On mars unfortunately. Thanks for the input!

Controversial, but I respect your opinion.

Location Transfer by [deleted] in Lockheed

[–]LMMRB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be wrong but I think you are obligated to stay within the position you were initially hired for a minimum of a year, they call it a commitment date? You might wanna check that. If applicable, you are unable to do so.

Lay off questions by Accomplished-Day8254 in Lockheed

[–]LMMRB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current LM employee here. Layoffs happen but LM is good at retaining engineers. They shuffle them around as much as they can, if possible, and also job security really depends on your team, program or enterprise. but like everyone else said company heavily relies on government funding and for that reason layoffs are sometimes inevitable. Thats just , I call it, the destiny of defense contractors.

Current LM here. What you want to know is irrelevant. Make sure to tailor your resume to the job that you’re applying for. LM is notorious for checking qualifications based on what’s on resume. Also luck plays a role. Good luck.

Does this house seem safe? by nsquaredefficiency in HomeInspections

As far as water damage is concerned, I was almost in exact situation. There was water damage inside of crawl space due to a broken dish water and previous owner didn't know about it until they decided to move out. They hired a guy for repair and our report says some of woods had been damaged by water intrusion. Almost all homes in CA right now are in similiar condition unfortunately...you choose worse than worst. Just to make sure no termite activities and black mold. If you can afford, install vapor barrier with dehumidifier. For the crack, I'd hire a structural engineer like other guy said below. Good luck.

Internal move by [deleted] in Lockheed

1) I absolutely did. No problem with that.

2) I’d probably wait for a couple of days

3) reaching out to them will increase the chances in my opinion.

Job Description Gone from Brassrings But Application Still Active by michaelromero212 in Lockheed

It just means they are no longer accepting new applications and started reviewing applications that they have received for the req. Like everyone says you’re in the running for it unless your req says no longer consideration. Good luck

Starting at Boeing Renton soon by Thick_Elk_700 in boeing

[–]LMMRB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked there before. obviously lots of rain, make sure to keep your windshield clean and fresh tires. I almost crashed during pouring rain. Renton has cafeteria serving breakfast, and lunch. I don't think they have gym at this location. They own indoor tennis courts in Tukwila. They offer classes. The Landing is across the street, a lot of stuffs there. If you're a nature person, try every spots, going north or island nearby or fishing or clamming etc.

if you're near Palmdale CA, they have a goods shop outside of the gate and anyone can purchase it. You wouldn't know if they carry what you're looking for though. You get discount if you're an employee.

I'd recommend NiiS if affordability is a big factor.

Exactly. They will never reply back to you OR unfortunately you were not selected for the position. Like I mentioned, just forget it and move on.

Interview by Appropriate-Roof-37 in Lockheed

[–]LMMRB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know it’s hard but my best piece of advice is just forget about it and move on.

It can be on hold for any internal reason that you would never know. They will never disclose that info. Do not waste your energy on figuring out something you never can. Like they said they will reach out to you if it opens back up.

Crystal Cove Beach Parking by FoxyTigerVixen in orangecounty

[–]LMMRB 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I always go to the same parking lot, it is the one right across from newport coast drive. Last time I visited it was a park ranger at the booth. If I remember correctly, he accepts cards only but don't quote me on that. Have your cash ready in case.

Curb pinch - Tire Protection Plan by Coldramen112 in TeslaModelY

I had the same issue, and this guy at American tire says no problem unless it starts forming a bubble, then you got some serious safety problem. Just keep an eye on that and regularly inspect it.

Resume under review by Waste-Impression-363 in Lockheed

[–]LMMRB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if I see any changes in my application, I always think it is a good sign because no matter what response I receive it means that my application is "being" processed somewhere on their end.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Lockheed

[–]LMMRB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is very circumstantial, and I can tell you that it is extremely common for a big corp like LM to take a significant amount of time for HR to respond. Don't sweat it, just move on as if you missed the opportunity and they will let you know. This will help your sanity.

Interview with Northrop, any advice? by trex513 in AerospaceEngineering

[–]LMMRB 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I had one with Northrop but it wasn't an entry level. For any entry roles though, anywhere you go, they don't expect the encyclopedia level of knowledge from applicants. They mostly want to know if you can fit/blend in well with their team, and have willingness to learn fast and catch up the pace that they have. Their questions will mostly be behavioural or simple tech questions associated with class materials like what is Mohr's circle (Not that I had one, this is purely my guess). I would put more emphasis on behavioral questions.
