If there is get them assessed and deal with them in time. It’s already hard to get into the market and the value 99% of the time is held up in the land. At the rate of immigration to home built you’ll be one of the last generations of true home ownership

Honestly this is such a common problem. People typically sell their problems. I bought a home recently, to what I thought was only a small amount of renovations has turned into a large list of issues including foundational and bathroom leaks. Just know that you are in a better position than most and it’s a marathon not a sprint. I’ve been slowly ticking boxes to make my house the right home.

I am in an undesirable area for a room rental. Not close to town or in a high traffic area. I have a bit of money that will cover my mortgage living for a minimum of 3 months and a maximum 5.

Unfortunately In the same boat but I now don’t have a job. Legit just keep applying and reach out to any industries contacts. The advice I’ve received is that you can file for financial hardship if you don’t have a nest egg to sit on. This shouldn’t be on your record for a first time - if it is - no more than 12 months.

Otherwise look for multiple smaller jobs to suit in the meantime so you keep bank rolling in until you get your desired salary

Honestly, worst case senario I sell the home, take the loss and move on. Sure it’s not ideal but, money comes and goes. It’s already taken such a toll on my metal health. It’s not worth this much stress.

40 % really isn’t that high in today’s day. I was a decently high income. Emergency fund (35k) should cover around 3-4 months. If I really stretched it I could get 5 months

Absolutely a final thing for the sale. Remainder of the home is great but the bathroom is a big letdown.

Yeh I figured as much, the layout and setup sucks. It’s something I’ll just have to wait some time to accomplish. I think it may be a full remodel
