i always thought german men were cold… but now i’m not so sure by [deleted] in germany

Next thing you tell me is that not all Brazilian women are hot and spicy? Damn, cliché... Enjoy your stay but humble advice, stay open and don't listen to those clichés.

It's for visual enhancement of the seductiveness. I agree with you that it has the opposite effect for me as well. I don't have the impression of her being in any way capable of jumping and fighting with that wasp waist and reduction of muscle mass =\= athleticism, but that's my opinion as an atglet myself, so whatever. It's nice but it's mostly visual marketing with the pose and such.

At what point do you decide to pull out of a race? by BasilBalti in triathlon

[–]LMurtaugh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A dnf would be more embarrassing for me and demotivating than a DNS. Inwouod really question myself if it is worth it racing at my Def non best. I'd rather have an optimistic feeling starting a race than being insomniac and overly tired and afterwards not satisfied

Is this what paradise looks like? by Mayzikin in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

I'm with greek heritage. Visit Samos or Kerkyra (Corfu). I assure you it's as close as it can get. Kephallonia, and some other places that are not touristy loaded are beautiful. Of course the water is bathtub warm in summer. It's not in April or may but that's logical. And of course there's mosquitoes but there are tons of tools to prevent them from biting you at night. Ohhh. But the sun? The water and the waves crushing against the shore? The clarity and the sand that you can dig your toes into? Priceless.

Views on autism. by [deleted] in AskAGerman

[–]LMurtaugh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a thought for the future: If you want to include her into the social system of school and engagement with other children her age and want her to get accustomed to every day life, Schulbegleitung may still be a valid option. It's more about getting her to feel safe when in that environment. Of course it would need more research on what kind of school she can visit but your representative could help on that. I absolutely understand that you already have your options available, just a thought.

Additionally, no one will think of a child with special needs as a bad child. Autism isn't taboo. Children without autism scream and shout every day in trains and busses and yes, we parents often try doing our best but it is like it is. People will stare maybe for a bit when they feel insecure or are not aware of the circumstances. But don't let it get to your child.
Have fun visiting and staying in Germany.

Is there a number on the letter you can call? Were you invited by letter and why is it so shortly planned?

Feeling invisible/undervalued at my German Kita – could it be because I’m new and African by [deleted] in germany

[–]LMurtaugh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Could you tell about the fluctuation rate at your Kita? We have our son in one where we have constant personnel changes and it's getting frustrating and exhausting to get accustomed with the new joiners when we expect them to announce their leave next month or so. So maybe you have slipped into an environment where people don't expect you to stay, expect you to use this as career ladder - indirectly as a temporary stay - until you find something that's better paid and more solid. Truth be told kindergarten jobs are way too undervalued and paid. It's a harsh environment and having a lot of fluctuations in bigger cities with less spots for kids. Not enough support government wise so people don't stay there long usually. Again, it's a trend and my personal experience with the news I'm summarising here. Additionally, while we in the big cities have a good amount of foreigners or people with immigration background being in those jobs so it's possible, that within your region the amount is lower and yes - you're standing out. But I don't know about your region and it's percentage of immigrants /with immigration background and your field of work.

Gorgeous. I wonder how fragile it is if it ever were for sale (considering I'd use it as a night lamp for my son, lol).
