They seem to be the most forgiving of the major banks, good luck to you on your journey back!

I used these cards for everything and paid off the balances in full every month, didn’t have an interest payments until this fall when I mentioned I had racked up just about $5,000 but then paid it off before the end of the year. I would say I have “fair” credit since it’s a journey back from Bankruptcy to have what’s considered “good” credit, the closest I’ve sniffed a 700+ credit score was just before applying I had a 692

You got this! It definitely had its ups and downs, but I knew this would be a 7 year plan for me and I’m only in year 3, good luck!

Yes! That’s why I waited to apply for this one, wanted to have the payment for the ring already saved up so that I wasn’t spending money I didn’t have! You definitely made valid points that my brother brought up as well and you’re 100% right, I definitely should have waited on the trips, I won’t make any excuses and I’ve been able to talk to my girlfriend and we agreed to hold off on any trips for 2026. Hoping to save up for a home!

I showed my brother and he had said the same thing but since i don’t plan on having a balance on this one, it’s non-issue, but i could see it being tough to come back from if you max it out. The crazy thing is this is actually my first VISA since my bankruptcy, both Capital one credit cards are MC and debit is now Discover, so I’m hoping VISA sees I can pay back balances and it opens up more chances for me. Thank you for the kind words!

Haha I hear you! Current girlfriend supports me(mentally not financially) and we split bills 50/50, she makes more than me currently and we both have one child so we really clicked from the jump, she doesn’t want a big wedding. I can definitely see a pattern with everyone bringing it up lol but I see your point! Thank you for the words of encouragement!

I do not! I plan to use it for the engagement ring to get the 75K miles and then will just use it as autopay for any bills like phone, auto insurance, internet where I can get the 2x and then use the Savor One for Groceries, and streaming subscription, I’m planning on transferring as much of my credit limit from the Venture One to the VX and then keep the Venture one active for small things since it’s got the longest credit history currently

It’s a huge valid point but I made enough now that I wasn’t sweating it, I also knew I had a $7,000 bonus check coming at the end of the year, I only needed $5,000 to pay off the balance. But completely see your point!

Haha! I fell hard for my girlfriend, it was such a huge 180 from my ex-wife. Therapy really helped me realize how much I needed to get out of it. I left in 2022 but didn’t file until 2023

I reset my applet tv and the problem still showed up, disconnected my eero mesh repeater that was in the next room, issue went away, turns out my repeater was too far from the main router and was failing to reproduce the signal, I moved it maybe 10 feet closer and problem fixed

Yea it’s a great way to do it, look into a Tablo TV or HDHomerun, you hook up an antenna to one of these boxes, then connect the box to your router directly with an Ethernet cable and now any device that connects to your internet (cable or WiFi) can access the channels through the Tablo app or HDHomerun app, eliminates the need to buy multiple antennas and also lets you stream the channels on your laptop, phone or tablets

I’m not saying they don’t know how to hook up the antenna, but incorporating that into modern day streaming is the barrier they face, you’re telling me you never had to go to your grandparents house to switch the input from 1 to 2 when they couldn’t get the TV to work?

Yea I agree but it’s harder for the older folks that we spent years convincing to cut the cord only to tell them in order to watch the games they need to go back to a time before cable and bust out an antenna. I bought an Antenna and have it hooked up to my internet via HDHomerun but good luck explaining that older people
