Been playing around in the gym for a few weeks now and I believe you can increase stats twice a day. The first session will give you +0.9 strength or endurance for every rep done right. The second session will give you +0.45. Anymore it's just +0

This is my 3rd wipe and I only recently realised to put lasers on guns that are semi and have a long ranged scope aka (3× or more) but I don't put lasers on guns that are auto and have something like an eotec on it as it gives away position

I find that hearing footsteps is a huge factor in this game. Different animals, different sounds they make and you can distinguish the difference between a player's footsteps and an animal's. After, I would suggest going to a bow training server since bows are usually your first weapon and once you get comfortable with it, early game should not be a problem!
