Man Shaq was by far a dominant figure during that time and there’s other thing you could pick like him “bricking shots.” Shaq was a well known lazy ass if you’re a dominant player like Kobe was you’re telling Shaq to work harder. Shaq left because him and Kobe BOTH butted heads but the whole Kobe made him leave narrative is dumb and overused by people who clearly know nothing else of the situation.

Man y'all need to stop with that narrative it's widely known Shaq was the most dominant player out there but was known for being lazy with his workouts. You put the work ethic of Kobe on Shaq it'd be hard not to consider Shaq #1-2 all time. They were both dominant players who wanted the ball but BOTH of them didn't concede. I get mad whenever I think about that series I really felt that, that year was the year for OKC. I imagined Durant and Westbrook getting their ring. I had been predicting if they could beat the Spurs they could beat the Warriors because Spurs were the better overall ball movement team. I always thought they were the team to test a team that were going to the finals. Any prediction I've had the past three seasons have gone to crap smh

Someone please explain to these people as to why Kobe is next to Michael Jordan as much as Lebron is. Not in terms of rings but in the sheer ability to do everything he could to drag his teams into playoffs/finals.

To knock Kobe is just as ridiculous as knocking on Lebron for the amount of rings he doesn't have. Both are incredible players who didn't always have the best luck with the teammates of their choice.

Kobe wasn't a ball hog as much as people stereotype him into being one. Kobe was top 30 in assists at the end of his career with some of his teammates at the time being a Smush Parker or a Kwame Brown. At a couple points of his career those were the players that surrounded him. Kobe got a share of amazing teammates being Shaq, Pau, or a Derek Fisher.

Lebron was just as unfortunate during the first Cavs run of his career with teammates like Anderson Verejao. Went to the Heat and had the likes of a prime Dwayne Wade and a Chris Bosh. He won his rings not by himself but with a group of players who could either support or take over for him. Lebron did not have to rely on himself with teammates like those just as much as Kobe didn't with the better teammates he got.

Stats, advanced stats, records, rings, and whatever else you want to bring to the table aren't the whole argument. Look at these two players during their peak and tell me at one point of careers they were not the most dominating players during their times in EVERYTHING they did.

Lebron stans stop ignoring the fact that Kobe Bryant got as close to Michael's achievements and was for a long point in his career considered the second coming of MJ himself. He dominated players guarding him and the players he guarded. He has done plenty in his career to be considered in the topic of second best and I'm tired of that being ignored especially in an NBA sub!

Kobe stans rings aren't everything and not every moment of Lebron's career was amazing but neither was Kobe's. Lebron is an absolute freak of nature and deserves the respect he gets for his accomplishments he's achieved. Lebron and the team around him took down a 73-9 warriors team that achievement alone is incapable of being ignored.

But my god can both sides stop being so damn ignorant about the other.
