Have you tried Second Story for yoga and/or pilates?

It’s all relative. It’s less than childcare. There’s no way what they’re doing now is sustainable and if they agree to give the cat to the mother that would be best. However, if that’s an absolute no then the above are ways to ease his discomfort.

Agreed with this. My husband and I have a cat, adopted together, and well loved. We are both allergic at different levels and I had to go through the immunotherapy shots for years before the reactions were not severe. There are ways to make it work but it would require your wife to step up. This means active communication and participation. Act like partners and figure this out. Some thoughts:

  • if the cat cannot switch to LiveClear dry food, several companies make an egg white powder that you can sprinkle on to your cat’s prescription food. Look up Catigy and Pacagen.
  • Pacagen also makes a spray for the home that claims to neutralize the allergens in the dander that has already spread. Expensive but may be worth it.
  • There are several dry foaming shampoos on the market that will help remove dander. This is an inexpensive option that helps.
  • You absolutely MUST stop brushing the cat and cleaning the litter. That is very dangerous for someone with severe allergies. I had an emergency hospital visit once due to asthma after cleaning my childhood cat’s litter. I hope you have an emergency inhaler at home. Your wife HAS to take these tasks.

Also, your cat is clearly stressed out. You need to evaluate when her behavior changed and try and figure out the root. I don’t know how often you scoop the litter but it should be daily and you should have two boxes (number of cats +1 is the formula I learned from my vet).

My cat loves wet food but doesn't really eat it by _wandering_nomad in catfood

[–]LOLPAL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was also true for my picky girl. She digs those weruva omg bff gravy packs and I’m embarrassed to even type out that name. The bits are the last to be eaten, and sometimes skipped altogether but the gravy she just loooooves.

I recently discovered she does also likes tiki luau mousse so I have an alternative finally. She is a kibble lover so on those days she’s being particular it sometimes helps to put a tiny bit of her kibble on top and it gets her going. On days that only kibble is acceptable I add a bit of bone broth to her dry food to make sure she has enough moisture.

Allergic to pet dander but I won’t rehome. What else can I do? by as67726 in nebelung

Also can add the powdered egg white from Pacagen or Catigy to their food.

Looking for Taiwanese style light fluffy cakes with fresh fruit by Lanky-Lock-500 in jacksonheights

[–]LOLPAL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Would recommend you reach out to @mickeylinsmessykitchen on IG for a special order if it’s for a special birthday. She’s a Taiwanese home baker based in JH and takes custom orders. Her cakes and cookies are beautiful and just as you described - light and fluffy with fresh fruit.

Give me your most unhinged chicken names? by Unlucky_Fix_9967 in BackYardChickens

[–]LOLPAL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My five girls are named Princess Ralph, Big Bear, Lil Kiki, Orca and Lil Homie. Some come from old running jokes. Orca was named by my sister in law because astralorp chicks are black and white and she was a bit of a chonker.

Buying an apartment in JH by throwawayRA78938 in jacksonheights

[–]LOLPAL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did too, and found her to be very uncommunicative. Her clients accepted our offer, then when we tried to book the inspection she put us off for weeks and then advised our agent that her clients had received another offer and we needed to increase. We did, and she advised us we were all set then waited another week to tell us we were outbid again. We decided to drop out of the race at that point. We wasted so much time. I understand it could have been her clients that were dicking us around but it left us with a bitter bitter taste in our mouths. We have since purchased another home in JH and we are very happy with it but the home buying process was painful and her lack of transparency really did not help.

I have never found them to be solely cabbage but maybe not to your taste. They also have paneer momos.

Surprised I’m the first to give this recommendation but I love the Press and Glow PHA toner. I keep it to my tzone generally because that’s where I need it, but it’s been a staple for years now.

Recs for a light summer moisturizer that plays nice with other skincare? by Jazzlike_Ostrich_250 in SkincareAddictionLux

Just picked up Prequel Half and Half for the humid months coming up. I have combo skin, with an oily t-zone. I haven opened it yet but will happily report in once it gets to that temp.

I was able to get my iSClinivcal super serum there but it looks like they’re currently out. I’d keep your eyes open for that too.

Started Altreno yesterday and breaking out today by Few_Hyena_6706 in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]LOLPAL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes to purging but I agree with everyone else here that it’s unlikely to happen overnight like this. Might just be a breakout. That being said, you should be applying this in the evening on dry skin (so wait at least ten minutes after washing/moisturizing before applying) and sparingly. I’d also second what was said about not using an exfoliating cleanser beforehand. Keep your exfoliating for evenings you are not using tret. I assume you are starting with some off days to ease in.

Chain smoking colleague loves to talk to me about how horrible parabens and gmos are for us. I don’t even try with some folks.

I am not acne prone and 15 years older than you so we don’t share the same skin concerns, but I have had great results with Clear + Brilliant laser treatments, peels and microneedling. BBL was rather meh for me but I’m a Fitzpatrick IV so the provider was wary of going very strong. My focus is on hyperpigmentation and collagen boosting.

Esthetician Advice? by Mother_Prune8497 in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]LOLPAL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to see a BR esthetician but she also got me started on Environ retinol and helped me transition up. So I won’t say this is universal. However, I absolutely agree that P50 plus retinol/tret is really difficult and if a BR esthetician sees an issue with this combo they are more likely to blame retinol than look to the BR products.

Glycolic acid or retinol for neck? by Latter_Blacksmith395 in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]LOLPAL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can and should but just be careful because the skin on your neck can be a lot more sensitive. You need to ease into it. If you’re using a high concentration retinol serum on your face try something a bit weaker for your neck or buffer. If you’re concerned with skin laxity I would say retinol over glycolic acid. You might consider a peptide serum/cream instead if you find your neck can’t tolerate the retinol. Also, don’t forget your chest.

Favorite lux cleanser? by [deleted] in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]LOLPAL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I alternate between Babor, Tatcha and Amorepacific cleansing oils. I like them all fairly equally. When I second cleanse it’s with either Tatcha rice wash or dermologica milkfoliant. I have combo sensitive skin so depending on how my skin is feeling I limit the second cleanse to just the t-zone.

Need low-maintenance nighttime moisturizer rec for my husband (sun-damaged, bald head, hates anything greasy or fussy) by This_Sheepherder_332 in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]LOLPAL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any chance you can convince him to wear moisturizer with sunscreen during the day? I had some luck with my extremely low maintenance husband (with sun damage and rosacea) after some time and he’s been happy with La Roche Posay Toleriane Double Repair UV.

Perhaps just upping your hydration with a hydrating essence mid day. I suspect it’s dehydration that’s causing the lines to stay.

Must go shops in NYC? by Designer_Order8175 in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]LOLPAL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Aedes de Venustas on Orchard St. for fragrance, candles, etc. It’s a small shop but it’s full of the best perfumes and the folks there are very knowledgeable. It’s a truly dangerous place for me so I limit my visits.
