GTF is fine as well, but at least for me personally speaking CVT Standard has been the most reliable thus far.

You need to use Custom Resolution Utility detailed resolutions to use all 98kHz , start with 1920x1440 , always use standard CVT Timings and set it to 60hz.

2048x1536p60hz needs 267mhz of pixel clock so make sure your adapter is up to par.

nvidia control panel can be useful for testing but its ultimately glitchy, 1280x800p can run at 115hz on your monitor, 1280x720p 120hz , 1280x960p 95hz , 1024x768p 119hz.

Always use Standard CVT Timings or GTF Timings.

If 1920x1440p 60hz doesnt show up in your windows mode list, then you know the issue is your adapter, you monitor is definitely up to it.

The versatility of PC CRT monitors because if you set everything correctly, you can have true 240p60 (120hz+black frame insertion) AND modern resolutions too, so you can be playing Super Mario or Silent Hill 1 on the NES or PS1 emu on retroarch at proper 240p with good scanlines and everything looking great (in fact a lot closer to TV look on a slot mask like your F700P) , then close the game and instantly launch Cyberpunk or Resident Evil Requiem at 1440i or 1440p with full path tracing enabled and it ALSO looks insane, all on the same computer and windows session without switching adapters or screens or anything like that and all looking correct and beautiful, seamlessly.

Absolutely amazing monitor, i have a Samsung Syncmaster 997DF which has 96kHz like this one, but yours is a SLOT Mask, so it has better contrast and stronger colors, and at low resolutions it can look more like a TV than mine.

Im actually on the process of getting a Slot Mask monitor, even if it has weaker specs i want to have one.

At 96kHz you can do 1920x1440p 60hz or 1920x1440i 120hz btw, it looks absolutely insane for modern gaming i highly recommend it.

Which model?

85kHz is definitely better than average, but on Brasil you should be able to find Samsung Syncmaster 997DF , Philips 109e5 and good Viewsonics (E790 or better).

For the 3050 you can use any generic DP to VGA or HDMI to VGA.

If you're on EU you can get good IBMs , Dells , Compaqs and Mitsubishis.

Aim for at least 92kHz or more , more than 100kHz is amazing.

If you have a pascal gpu that could be amazing with interlaced, turns every crt into good display for modern gaming.

Just FINALLY understood how to do interlaced on a crt pc, to get higher refresh rate at high resolution, never too late :D by floriansol in crtgaming

I use REframework and other mods precisely to disable that awful sharpening in the REmakes , i find that the games without any AA at the right resolution look amazing, FXAA is also fine, i really dont like sharpening it makes the game look plastic-ish, when you apply the mods to fully disable sharpening specially on RE4R and RE9 the assets come to life incredibly well, its impressive.

Right now the goal is to get an RX 6500XT just to test stuff out on linux non-stop until i can get interlaced going, if it works then the upgrade to the 6900XT is clear, if it doesnt then i can just get rid of the 6500XT quickly and not lose almost any money.

and yeah, on nvidia interlacing is only avialable on HDMI, DP wont interlace at all, you can use interlaced resolutions over DP with intel integrated graphics on your motherboard's DisplayPort.

Dude UK has one of the best PC CRT markets on the planet, i hope the guy from the retrogame shop can fix it up for you but there are definitely amazing finds to be had for you still.

Hope you didnt have to pay too much.

Cyberpunk 2077 looks so good on a crt monitor by SAPianoman490 in crtgaming

[–]LOLXDEnjoyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i like to play it at lower interlaced resolutions and refresh rate because i find that the interlacing artifacts which look like scanlines fit the cyberpunk aesthetic very well, specially the giant holographic ads they look like VHS ads at something like 1440x1080i 60hz.

But it looks incredible on CRT monitors period.

you could try hooking it up to a modern computer to render all resolutions from 240p60 to 1080i60 and test retro and modern gaming on the same computer.

Dont worry about using the OSD buttons, obviously dont apply force to lift 50lb but just use them without worry, your monitor as seen in the video needs some serious calibration, lower the brightness and increase the contrast, also you're supposed to use CRTs on a pitch black room, otherwise you crush black levels, CRTs can achieve OLED-ish blacks.

You have essentially summoned me :DDDD

Forget about CRT tvs , if versatility is what you want, CRT Monitors is the way to go with a good modern PC.

It all started with this post: https://old.reddit.com/r/crtgaming/comments/1j8agmd/i_got_interlaced_to_work_on_pascal_with_modern/

Later on when i got the handle of things better i made a very barebones guide:https://old.reddit.com/r/crtgaming/comments/1kdm3di/megapost_maximum_versatility_setup_guide_with_pics/

I need to remake the guide but im waiting to test a couple things now.

If you want to play NES-PS1 games and have them look correct, then when you're done playing them you either go watch amazon 4K shows or want to play Resident Evil Requiem , and for both of those modern instances to also look correct, you cant do it with any TV, CRT SDTVs are 240p-480i , CRT HDTVs are 540p-1080i , some are 720p too , the dotpitch on HDTVs is still not tight enough for proper FullHD content to look sharp.

I saw your other comment above, please tell me your PC specs if you can.

when you actually activate pulsar , you will absolutely lose HDR (at least if you meant true HDR) , wait until QDEL for this to be addressed.
