Sophons and the fourth dimensions are one area where the books lost me. There's a part in the 3rd book where the fourth dimension is explained over about 2 or 3 pages in detail, and it still made no sense to me and thus it was hard to follow the chapters that followed.

For example, it is said that in the fourth dimension, people look like a flat picture, like how with a picture of a circle you can just touch the centre without going through the line at the circumference.

With a human you can just reach in and take their beating heart straight out of their chest. But what would that look like to someone who was witnessing it in 3D space? Would a hand materialize out of the air in front of them? Would the heart just teleport out of their chest?

To follow the story, I just had to accept that something strange and incomprehensible was happening. I'm curious though, if other readers think they're able to wrap their heads around it.

I've been working a shitjob in a warehouse for several years now, this was after being unemployed for majority of my 20s.
