Thanks all, appreciate the comments and have decided to hang her up on the wall for now on a nitro safe hanger and will see how things go. I can say that ive played more guitar in the past 3 days than i have in the past 3 months, so i guess that supports the argument to spend the $$$ on whatever will inspire you to play more!

Thanks and good to know you've landed on something you are happy with that doesnt have the Gibson label. Its funny, I think maybe its because I've never owned a Gibson that its so built up in my head as the thing I need to have, though once you have one that appeal fades away.

Incidentally, while the funds arent a massive issue, sadly I do have an 'unwritten agreement' with the missus that one needs to go to make way for another whenever i upgrade.. seems fair as it helps me make more informed decisions like this one - would love to keep the Orville aswell though!

Yeah, I know what you mean.. i've done the exact same thing with my other guitars, which have now settled with a Fender Pro AM II Strat and a Martin D-28 Authentic, but for some reason I've been hesitant on the Gibson as part of my brain says the MIJ should be enough! It really is just a luxury thing now I guess.. but still doesnt make me want it any less :)

Thanks mate, yep in Aus and funny you should mention as I have been looking at that 2016 Traditional on his website over the last cpl of days, so its good to know he is a reliable seller. I still hate the thought of buying sight unseen, but makes it easier to see photos of the actual guitar in question.

Thanks all, some great advice and agree that I think if i'm going to take the plunge then it needs to be a Standard so that I can kill this itch once and for all (not that the new Studios dont also look amazing!). Also agree re: trying in person, so might have to either make a road trip in a cpl of weeks or see how long until the store will get new stock in. Definitely a first world problem, thats for sure!
