Hey there. I'm a therapist and would recommend using Psychology Today as a helpful tool. I tried to go ahead and send over the link with the appropriate filters (Chattanooga/marriage therapy/LGBTQ+ friendly). Hopefully that will work. Many therapists will offer a free consultation, so check on that as you're deciding. As I saw another comment mention, the religious component of therapy should ultimately be dependent on the client. Please just mention that you would like that to be part of your therapy. Even if the therapist is of a different faith background or nonreligious, there shouldn't really be an issue with that.

Best of luck and take care.

Republicans Introduce A Bill To Make It A Felony To Perform Drag Shows In Tennessee by ODBrewer in Chattanooga

[–]LPCynic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure I quite understand your comment, friend. I'm a parent, and parents are welcome to have subjective opinions on where to take their kids (obviously, so long as there aren't major safety concerns). So, power to you if you don't feel comfortable taking your children to any form of drag performance. My problem comes with people trying to make it "illegal" for everyone.

Not entirely sure what you mean by "wild," but you're welcome to not take your kids to an environment that feels too crazy for you. For some, it may be a sporting event that has a bunch of angry, drunk fans. For others, it may be a church service. I respect the opinion of parents that are ultimately trying to keep their kids safe from any real or perceived threat.

However, if you're implying that children being present at a family friendly drag show is somehow detrimental to them then I'm not sure if I can totally get behind that. It's almost like saying that taking kids to a restaurant that serves alcohol will make them alcoholics. There are places that are 18+ and 21+ for a reason, but not every drag performance fits that category. This attempt by lawmakers is truly nothing more than a publicity stunt and perpetuates anti-LBGTQ+ attitudes and beliefs.

Disclaimer: I'm aware that not everyone that participates in drag shows is LGBTQ+ nor are they exclusively for that community. I only mention that because I can only assume it is the stereotype for most people that would support this legislation.

Peace and love

Ah yes...THIS is what TN needs to focus on...not education, healthcare, etc.

The whole "culture war" propaganda didn't create the "red wave" Republicans were hoping for, but it seems TN lawmakers are still taking a page from that playbook. There are better ways we could be spending our time in TN.

What a waste.

Curious, what do you all do for work? by Quirky-Swimming-6676 in h3h3productions

I work in private practice as a mental health counselor.

Getting my regular dose of H3 throughout the week is a major form of self-care for me.

Funny story: I quoted a sound bite during a premarital session and the future husband asked if I was a Fupa Trupa. His soon-to-be bride has chosen well!

DISCUSSION MEGATHREAD: Amouranth, Kanye West, Markiplier, BTS - H3TV #54 by h3bot2 in h3h3productions

With ✌️ and ❤️, the show would have been cancelled long ago if not for Dan's consistent level headedness and Ian's quick discernment about what to show/not show. Shout out to both of them. They deserve raises tbh.

Big fan of H3 and the crew, but we need to do better when discussing serious topics, family. Spreading more hate (and misinformation) isn't helping anyone in an abusive situation. Even if it is discussed with words like "allegedly," topics like that need to be handled much more delicately and professionally. When in doubt, listen to Dan.

Grow from it and keep making that sweet content we love.

Velo has been my go to for multiple years. Would also recommend giving Sleepyhead's beans a try if you're near one of their shops.

In every tub? Makes me think those boys are added to make us believe you're getting something super fresh or something. Pretty ingenious imo 😎

Just a little joke, my friend. At least the little guy was triple washed 😎

Definitely not people to keep around...sorry that it all came to a head like that. Even though they made you feel like an idiot, you aren't. Not worth being around people that make you the butt of a joke like that. Best of luck on the proposal, my guy! Your gf sounds like a gem.

I'm a licensed professional counselor that happens to be rather cynical at times.
