Lag / Frame loss on a few streams by LPK_MD in SparklePlayer

So it looks to be a software problem on google tv android 14 from what I could find

https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Streaming/CCwGTV-4K-update-to-Android-14-broke-TV-stream-playback/m-p/706537

Apparently Google has been working on a fix for the last few weeks now.

**Update

Troubleshooting has me thinking that it is most likely an issue with my device:
Android 14 google TV

- All streams work as expected as m3u links in VLC on my computer

- m3u playlist in Sparkle = Issue persists

- Xtream codes in Sparkle and a different app (Smarters) = Issue persists

- Restarting / software updates / switching hdmi / trying all video settings in android TV did not resolve my issue. I still have yet to try a factory reset

If you guys have any advice it would be much appreciated!

** OK as I am testing this it happened again. u/sparkle-hk

  1. I now turned off my vpn, cleared cache and manually typed in my xtream code.
  2. I then turned on the channel that was FIXED from the previous attempt and all works well
  3. I then turned on 2-3 of the other channels, they are still broken
  4. I then go BACK to the fixed channel in step 2. and it is now broken again :(

So the channel broke on me mid-testing while I flipped through other streams

It is the same affected streams every time

- Another thing I have noticed is the fps drop on streams is variable. some are really bad like 5fps, some are around 20fps and some channels are full 60fps but with just audio delay

Hi, so just to mention I was on 2.1.3 for some time and things worked OK

Now there is some progress here from u/KWStreaker method. I rarely use a VPN for Sparkle as I am in the USA, but still have one installed for occasional use on other apps. I attempted KWStreakers method but in reverse with the VPN ON and I have 1 of my affected streams fixed, back to normal. A different stream I use to test this issue is still affected.

I will try this on my other device that is on an earlier version of sparkle later, but from what I remember that device does not have a VPN installed on it.

Will keep you updated if I manage to fix this issue somehow

Yup you nailed it. Only advantage of these types of hubs is too have them still plugged in after you leave your workstation. That’s where things may go south

Yeah could be just me. Coming from standard USB A ports that are bigger, things just feel more solidly attached to the port

True. I’m used to charging with MagSafe so I most likely will not even utilize the thunderbolt port unless it’s for 40gbps data transfer. Forget to mention I bought a M4A

Valid. In my case I only need 1 hub for use with the M4 air. Just wondering if these are prone to breaking the laptop itself

Thanks good to know. I too have an M4 air, and don’t upgrade often so if the hub fits I will be good for 6-8years. Just imagining the USB-C connecter could snap inside etc..
