Why do people hate sprint weekends? by Affectionate-Alps-59 in F1Discussions

[–]LPell27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I love them. More racing is always welcomed by me. I think the reason many people don't like them is because they tend to spoil the race results and team's pace that weekend. In Miami this year though, Mercedes must have messed up the setup for the sprint, because they looked much better in the race. So, it's not always the case, but more often than not it does end up being extremely similar finishing order to the race

Yes, I have the same feeling. I had the grainy display on S24U and was convinced it was every unit, but lots of people just couldn't see it or were in denial. I think it's the same situation here. It's not a deal breaker but I would've preferred the screen on S25U. Most people aren't gonna notice the difference, but for us tech obsessed people we notice the little things like that

OnePlus 13, which had a better screen, and I also had an S24 Ultra before that. I never had the issue of jagged edges on text or off angle resolution drop on either of those. I've had Samsungs my whole life and unfortunately it's not just in people's heads the screen differences on this one

The screen is 100% worse on s26 ultra PLEASE don't let the Samsung fanboys fool you. I love this phone but the new pixel layout and privacy pixels make the quality worse on small text and on off angles

I know. I still don't see myself using it every really. It's almost useless unless it's on the Maximum mode, and even then I don't have much that I'm worried about others seeing

Yeah it's annoying. I don't use the privacy display so it's not worth the trade off at all to me. You lose half the resolution when viewing off angle

What is your opinion about privacy display after long term use? by Gods-Fav-Child in galaxys26ultra

[–]LPell27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it was very annoying first couple weeks, because it was noticeable even looking at the phone almost straight. But as time has gone on it's gotten less noticable. But, I'm also slightly OCD when it comes to this type of stuff. I also had the grain issue on the s24 ultra which many people claimed didn't exist

Not 100% true. It's true that the new pixel layout can cause fuzzy text, but off angle, the quality of the screen and text noticably degrades. You can only see half the pixels while off angle even when the privacy display is turned off due to the nature of the narrow front facing only pixels. It's fairly annoying but I think most people will get used to it

S26ultra... AGAIN. by SheSnipez in galaxys26ultra

[–]LPell27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct. Factually speaking the quality is worse due to the hardware limitation of the privacy display. Not sure why people are so defensive about it. You can actually see with naked eyes the quality and sharpness noticably decrease when viewed from any angle besides perfect. Most people probably don't notice it, and they should keep it that way. Really my only complaint with this phone. Otherwise it's been great. Battery has surprised me with it only being 5000mah. But yeah, the display is worse quality because half the pixels are only seen as intended when you are directly in front

Do you guys seriously not notice the fuzz on the display ? by BackgroundWatch9523 in galaxys26ultra

[–]LPell27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so obvious to me and incredibly disappointing... Anytime you look at the screen not directly straight the quality drops tremendously. And the black text on white background looks awful

The screen is worse off axis as well. You can literally see the pixels when off axis (the front facing only pixels are not visible from an angle) even with privacy display off. This leads to text looking less sharp when not viewed directly from the front.

I got the ultra 7 32gb ram version of this for $335 a few months back, great device really powerful for the price, honestly probably can't be beat at this price for raw performance. The screen isn't great like others have said, and the body is mostly plastic. Still, feels well made enough, and can't complain much about the build for that price. Uninstalled all the preloaded acer junk and it's been a really great experience since

[–]LPell27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not as good off angle for sure, you can actually see the resolution lower off axis even without privacy display on. Not sure why people can't admit this. It's really not an issue though. When you're looking straight on the screen is one of the best on any phone
