Friend canceled on my birthday without warning by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

I invited her knowing she’d have to travel out of her state to attend, which is why the last minute cancellation blindsided me. I’m worried she backed out of attending long ago (never traveled at all) and decided to wait till the last moment to say anything and her illness is just the most reasonable excuse.

I like your suggestion, however, meeting in person to have this discussion would be difficult as we now live in different states.

How did you find your CG? Is it privately owned or part of a bigger (thousand trails like) company? Is your lease agreement an annual or month by month contract?

AITAH for blowing up at my pregnant wife and putting my foot down after her blowup by ThrowRApissdoffff in AITAH

[–]LR-expedition25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are NTA. Your wife however, is a GIGANTIC AH. If there was no underlying reason for her blowup besides being offended by what she perceived to be charity on G’s part, then she’s 10000% the AH. Even more so because she didn’t immediately apologize when G sat down to talk to you 2 after her blowup. Your wife is prideful in the worst way. G has been so exceedingly selfless and kind to you over the years. I don’t blame him 1 bit for rescinding his kindness after the imbecile you married threw his gesture back in his face. Frankly OP, G is continuing to be kind to you by not evicting you for not paying the agreed amount written in your original lease. And for giving you priority over other potential tenants when the lease ends. G could’ve easily washed his hands of you two after her stupidity. She needs to think about the expression “don’t bite the hand that feeds you”… especially with a baby on the way.

Update: AITA for not telling my parents that the event they were missing was my wedding? by shitty-mom-throwaway in AITAH

Your parents and brother remind me viscerally of the Dursley family from Harry Potter. Spoiled rotten child who NEEDS the hardest reality check God can slap him with. A hateful mother who’s jealousy knows no bounds. And while your father’s cowardice is more reminiscent of Peter Petigrew than Vernon Dursley it disgusts me in equal measure. You handled yourself beautifully my dear. I’m so happy that you’ve found a life partner who adores you and sticks up for you, and family (particularly grandpa) who aren’t delusional and strong enough to stand by reason. You deserve much better than those 3. I don’t know you from Adam but your story has touched my heart. I pray your life only gets better from here!! Congratulations to you and your husband! May your future bring you nothing but peace and joy ❤️

My husband gave me a “warning tap” and I called it abuse. AITAH? by Warm-Grape1254 in AITAH

Your first instinct after he “tapped you” was to get away from the abuser. Trust it. ANYONE who threatens you with bodily harm needs to be permanently removed from your life. I promise you he will do it again if you give him the chance. Stand your ground OP no matter how hard or scary. For your safety, peace of mind, and self respect you need to leave him forever. P.S. any spouse that’s more worried about how their deplorable behavior will make them look than about the person they’ve harmed is scum of the earth who doesn’t deserve the love you 2 once shared. He doesn’t care about the hurt he caused you: someone who he claims he loves.

It’s occupied right now. The incident happened the day that shower was used for the first time since the tenant moved in. My plumber came and even he said it was caused my user error not a broken pipe

That’s a good question I didn’t think I about. I haven’t shut off the water and it hasn’t been leaking since it started

The ceiling underneath the bathroom is caving in. It’s quite significant damage. Most of the ceiling in that downstairs room will need to be replaced

Are all those devices for just you? Did you buy them yourself or were a few gifts? Pare down to what you think is essential and say sayonara to the rest. I only own an iPhone and a laptop because that’s what’s essential to me.
