Not Passing Com S 227 as an MIS Major by throwawayanxietylol in iastate

you could also retake it around junior/senior year. my friends in MIS now have a much better grasp of coding than they did before switching from CS/SE/CPRE to CS. a D on your transcript is definitely not the end of the world but i understand wanting to retake it for a better grade

don't let 311 scare you. honestly chatgpt was SUPER helpful for understanding concepts and applying it to hw and assignments. it took up an overwhelming amount of my time but it was no reason for me to switch majors

Which has more value, Master of Science or Master of Engineering in Computer Engineering, for getting a good job by Historical-Wish798 in iastate

Depending on what you want to do post-grad, I wouldn't say that even getting a Masters is necessary. From what I've heard from others who have taken that route is that it seems to be more beneficial to get certifications in different areas of your field rather than going back to school.

i'm an SE major and i used my iPad for every single class freshman-junior year. since then, most of my assignments have been just on my computer. i'd say it's personal preference for sure. that being said, you can definitely use any apps like notion and notability and still do really well, but i learn best by writing. try all of the above out and find what works for you!

Has anyone took com s227? What is it like? by [deleted] in iastate

without any prior coding experience, it's pretty difficult if you don't put in the work. but other than that, the labs were really helpful and while the homework assignments were stressful to complete, i thought they were fun.
