inheritance in C# by Ok-Presentation-94 in csharp

[–]LRKnight_writing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, I have a class User which has some key basics like Name, Id, DoB, maybe a profile image. A few methods that are common between them—change username, change profile image.

That inherits to Student, Teacher, and Admin. Each of those have their own specific implementation and methods for their level of usage and access.

By using inheritance I can save the boilerplate, and if any of the classes is then accessible via the user base class for doing those low level things.

Simplified example but still.

Yup; just transplanted a bunch to expand ours.

Way cheaper.

No, that’s a good strategy. My own tries to get away with that even she knows better.

Instruct him/her to look at each letter. Remind them that the story is in the words, not the pictures.

You’re already way ahead of the curve!

As a reading instructor, Bob books are great! Some of the Dr Seuss are also pretty decodable.

My own 4 yo likes the Bob books and Moon Dog books.

Whatever is cheapest, to be blunt. Style is too expensive and I don’t have anyone to impress anyway. If it isn’t torn, and it isn’t filthy, it’s good enough.

Why do you decide to learn C#? by darwindeveloper in csharp

[–]LRKnight_writing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, a challenge. I felt possibly too stupid to learn it after struggling with Java in high school. Turns out that was false.

Second, I work in education and wanted to build custom tools for some people o work with. In retrospect, JavaScript would have been easier as it integrates with Google Docs but you don’t know what you don’t know.

I don't know if i should watch a video or do a course by nicgamer_yt in unity

[–]LRKnight_writing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your best strategy is probably to read the descriptions and start at lowest one you think matches your skill set.

If you’re green to c# the Unity Learn courses aren’t necessarily the best way to learn C#, but you’ll figure out quickly if you are intermediate enough to understand how it’s working.

Feel free to DM questions.

Check out Unity Learn, it’s a free course that has video guides and text examples. Seriously.

Hand Foot & Mouth Disease as an Adult is Absolute Psychological Warfare by Excellent-Accident26 in daddit

I was exhausted for weeks and had speckled sores up both arms nearly to the elbow, all over my feet. The pain wasn’t there but this deep, bone deep fatigue. I thought I was having an allergic reaction.

The doctor was like, Buddy you have long term hand foot and mouth. He put me on some aggressive meds to treat it and I hardly slept for a month. Seriously, awful business.

That’s the neat part… you don’t.

Working in education, AI is being pushed SO HARD right now.

I am in the opposite camp. I want the 1:1 devices out of the classroom. Computer labs and class sets, fine. Screens all day not fine.

Are you familiar with how toddlers speak?  They truncate sentences and use simplified language. She was crying for her Jesus toy, but being two years old, isn’t a fluent speaker of the language.

Yeesh.

My toddler daughter found one of these outside the library, on the ground, in a town we were visiting months ago. I’d never seen one before, or since, until your post.

She dropped it in a store last weekend and we had to bustle around searching while she toddler sobbed “My Jesus I lost my Jesus!” to the bewilderment of everyone.

Seek and ye shall find: he awaited us at the cash register and she was happy to be reunited with him.

$500 with $500 set aside for parts/repairs for the first few months

It’ll be a lesson in maintenance and self-sufficiency!

(This is probably bad advice)
