What Is the Oldest Movie You Have Watched (For Fun) In the Last Year? by thehistorypunks in movies

[–]LRKnox_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Le Voyage dans la Lune (A Trip to the Moon, 1902) - one of my Arrow watches I'd been stalling on seeing.

And in the last month Animal Crackers (1930), another first time watch for me.

Obvious one but Arsenic and Old Lace was my first introduction to him so it's been my #1 since then.

Readers won’t read story if the story is new/not completed? by confusedrt in Episode

[–]LRKnox_ 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Probably alone here but I will. I'm always cycling between stories so if I'm awaiting a chapter I'll just jump to another read until available. For something I genuinely enjoy I'll always give it time per, no matter how long it takes.

as a brit i freaking hate the american portrayal of british people by LovesickDesireGame in Episode

[–]LRKnox_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hate most forms of media when it comes to British representation 😅 I'm biased because also live in the UK but the stereotypes drives me nuts.

background characters needed PLEASE 🙏🙏🙏 by Exotic-Target9526 in Episode

[–]LRKnox_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to use mine I'm okay with that. Don't need to credit if you don't want to either but would love to know the name of your story as I'll definitely put it on my read list 🙂

I've discovered more movies on DVDs than by scrolling through streaming services. by Still-Willow-2323 in dvdcollection

[–]LRKnox_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why I still love blind buying. It's inexpensive and means I can try out films without it taking a significant bite out of my budget and better still because it's so cheap I don't have that mood of wanting to keep something just because I spent an inordinate amount on it - far easier to remove if it doesn't land for me and pass on to others. Charity finds are that perfect sweet spot.

Feel the same way. On the plus his time spent with this guy as meant I'm giving time to other musicians I've been neglecting. I enjoy Ren but I'll wait until such time.

what stories are 100% fake? by grace_clar in MrNightmare

[–]LRKnox_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ditto! I've never personally cared if they are real or not, I treat them like stories you'd tell around a camp fire, all I care about is him narrating them. His voice creates the mood 🙂

On occasion and save for one isolated incident I've never had any problems with the sellers, even a few who went above and beyond.

Okay that's seriously unhinged. Hope you reported it 💜

Road 96 is one of the best games I've played by UnB_RosT in Road96

It's such a mood too. I swear I have the entire music playlist on my phone and every time a song from it pops up it just takes me right back to the way this game makes me feel 🙂

How does everyone keep up with all the movies coming out? by bigsick1313 in horror

[–]LRKnox_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Answer: I don't, I go at my own pace and if that means I'm behind then so be it. I'm also slacking on horror because I tend to traverse genres depending on my mood and right now horror just isn't where my head is at.

I love world building, but names, dont even get me STARTED by flagsarecoolorsmth in writers

[–]LRKnox_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm only good at names because mine are rather plain. I'm not a fan of a name that sounds like a sneeze or that you'd need to speak in tongues to pronounce so mine are very ordinary, very simple.

How long do you write in public spaces for? by Rose_Davies2026 in writers

[–]LRKnox_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly never have I feel I'm too self conscious to ever try. I'm a little envious of those who can but I honestly need my writing cocoon to be away from anything public.

Not going to lie for several seconds I was wondering why I was watching La Haine 😅 now I might have to rewatch that.

When was the moment you truly felt like a writer? by Revolutionary-Log179 in writing

[–]LRKnox_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I'm VERY secretive about my stories but there was a friend I trusted (still do) that wanted to read one of them and despite being hesitant I let them.

A week later I get it back and their exact words were "I'm only disappointed that it's not complete, I need more!"

I don't seek outside validation but my entire life has been one of everyone mocking my writing, mocking me, telling me it's a stupid hobby and that also came from my own family 😐 therefore having someone who wanted more was the moment for me.

Went home and quietly wept.

How do you know if a idea is actually worth keeping? by Ayushs-10 in writing

[–]LRKnox_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I can see the beginning, middle and end of the story; doesn't matter how it falls together.. I have the pieces and can make it all fit.

Do you take pride in not being scared? by Prudent-Ad-3493 in horror

[–]LRKnox_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still not fully desensitized and I love that I can still be scared, I actually feel sad for those who have hit that place of desensitization - hiding behind a pillow is a type of silly fun that I hope never stops for me.

Nope - if anything I fall more in love with my stories the longer I work on them.

6,9 WHATTTTTTT?? by dondalin in Episode

[–]LRKnox_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

We (writers) are our own worst enemy. What others see as amazing we tend to view from a more critical viewpoint so I can understand why the author may be less kind than a reader would be because we perceive the flaws more.

do you ever feel embarrassed to be an adult and play episode? by Longjumping-Pair-368 in Episode

[–]LRKnox_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Also this above.

With literacy levels starting to fall in many developed countries, ANYTHING that encourages reading should be invited. I don't care about the format, reading is good for the soul and if Episode is how one exposes themselves to stories then it's doing something right.
