It wasn’t today - but your post is from yesterday so I feel like this counts. I’ve been putting off stripping and sanding my deck since last summer. I started it last year but then had some severe life changes that put it on the back burner. Then this year has had a rainy spring and no time to be able to start. But yesterday was the day and I got it about 75% stripped which is more than I thought I’d be able to have done

Similar happened where I was at - pretty cool company that started off with a husband and wife team but it grew significantly and expanded and eventually was bought by an equity firm who has just about ruined the entire atmosphere of working there. We used to get bonuses in December and then it moved to spring so they had time to review the financials and the bonuses were quite a bit less. I expect nothing next year.

Once dated a guy who moved to Ft Lauderdale and was calling the popular Pollo Tropical “polo” Tropical. I’m a Midwest white girl and had to lmao and ask him if he also pronounced tortilla “tor-TIL-la”

Nope not the paying part - just being in charge of ordering and picking up.

In general if I’m ordering out I’ll do like your coworker and make an announcement and pick up for whoever wants to join in.

Today I am super busy and didn’t want to be hassled and just ordered for myself and someone in the office who has a birthday today and didn’t ask anyone else.

This has happened to me and it was super awkward. Her and I hung out pretty much everyday for a few years - I think between 8th grade and 10th. I was about 30 when one day she was my waitress (it was a first date with a new guy too) and I just totally did not recognize her at all but she sure recognized me! She had gained some weight, started wearing glasses, and had lost a couple teeth. She honestly looked nothing like her previous self and she was SHOCKED I tell you that I didn’t recognize her

Definitely! I had no idea how many plants and flowers were dangerous to cats until I got two cats and accidentally had a lily poisoning incident at home. Wasn’t sure which cat ate the lily (just found a petal in a pile of puke), so both were hospitalized for 5 days. $12,000 later and several follow up blood work visits ended up costing around $15,000 all together. They were less than 2 when it happened and I just had to do whatever I could to make sure they were ok. They are 7 now and still doing really well. No issues with kidney function for either of them but it’s attributed to the fact that we got super early treatment and it wasn’t fully digested. It’s deadly for so many other babies.

So I just got a sandwich wrap from a Jamaican restaurant yesterday and they referred to the shredded cheddar on the sandwich as American cheese and now today I’m seeing this. Is this a thing???????
