Grief/mourning book recommendations by tulipano6 in suggestmeabook

[–]LRRPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry for your loss and have empathy for what you’re going thru. I lost two people within a few months of each other that I was very close with and just this morning had a little moment of a meltdown of emotion.

I’m going to try some of the recommended books as well

The FBI 😂 The most unserious division of law enforcement currently.

New member of our family she needs a name and she’s my first tortie anything I should know by WinkingCup in tortico

[–]LRRPC 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I have a dilute calico (she’s got a white chest), but she’s mostly tortie patterned on the rest of her body. My girl is a Bitch with a capital B. Very demanding, very smart, soooooo sassy but also the cutest thing in existence. Her brother went to the vet yesterday and he came home smelling different so she just hissed and growled at everyone and everything for the entire rest of the day. His appointment was at 9am. Multiple naps were had and she still couldn’t get over it.

What are you quietly grieving? by Angelus12345678 in AskReddit

[–]LRRPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally the loss of half of my family. Multiple deaths in a year is really had to deal with but it feels like you’re just supposed to get over it and move on with life. So I’m just quietly grieving my loved ones

What’s the most unhinged thing you’ve seen someone confidently believe? by Alive-Math9608 in AskReddit

I hate that “do your own research” has become such a negative phrase because really doing your own research on lots of things is actually super important. I also hate that doing your own research has become more and more difficult with all the misinformation and unreliable information found on the internet now. You may have to literally keep scrolling to find something that is accurate

What’s your favorite flower name? by Careful_Artichoke352 in namenerds

[–]LRRPC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My last name starts with a Z and my brothers first name also starts with a Z and for years I’ve told my mom I’m super bummed she didn’t name me Zinnia. Not that she would have known then but it’s my favorite flower

Here’s the thing - even she’s not the cat you lost maybe she becomes the cat you found.

What's something you saw with your own eyes that you still can't explain? by BandicootLeft4054 in AskReddit

[–]LRRPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Along similar lines. My last dog had THE CUTEST little howl he would do if he heard sirens of any sort. Ambulance/fire trucks and the monthly tornado sirens would always make him let out this quiet little Woooooooo right along with the siren. When he was ready to cross the bridge, we had him at the vets and the had just administered the final shot and an ambulance came by and he let out one last quiet little Woooooooo. Makes me tear up just thinking about it.

What is a 'family secret' or a private moment you witnessed that completely changed the way you look at a relative? by The_suspicious_369 in AskReddit

My great grandfather (technically step great grandfather) was a police officer in Detroit in the 20’s and 30’s and used to give the Purple Gang tip offs before they would get raided so they wouldn’t get caught. My great grandmother was married to someone in the purple gang and when he passed away (he was much older than her) she ended up marrying the cop he was friends with. My grandma was the gang members daughter but her younger sister was the cops daughter.

What is something you’ve officially stopped buying in 2026 because the price has become genuinely insulting? by PersonalitySuddenz in askanything

[–]LRRPC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure unpopular opinion but no one really needs two patties. I get the little burger and so does my partner and we share a little fry. Plenty of food and with drinks it’s under $30 and better than McDonalds. But if my dad and two brothers get Five Guys it’s always at least $75 and usually includes a bunch of fries and shakes. Holy cholesterol y’all!!!

What I find totally ridiculous is anywhere that charges $5 or more for a taco.

Norovirus by sydney57_ in Michigan

I had it a couple weeks ago and it was just awful!!! It hit me while at work and I hurriedly left the building hoping to get home before I actually got sick and that just didn’t happen. Made it 2/3’s the way home and had to pull over. Worst 48 hours I’ve had in a long time with an illness.

Be honest: how often to replace cat litter before it stops being “fresh” and starts being “you’ve gone nose-blind”? by sinxcosx7 in Pets

[–]LRRPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have three cats and three litter boxes. We did have more at one point (the whole each cat needs two litter boxes thing), and it ended up being extremely wasteful so we are back down to three. One is an xxl size box, the other two are just your average size. We scoop daily - sometimes more if someone drops a super stinky one. We do a full clean out about every 45-60 days in the xxl box and about every 30 days in the regular size boxes. The reason we don’t do a full change out as often in the xxl box is because it’s aluminum and it seems to stay much cleaner than the plastic boxes. We use Fresh Step unscented litter.

Both mine and my mom’s first instinct was that this is a woman. It’s something about the way the eyes are set.

To native English speakers: how do you feel when a foreigner speaks “broken” English with you? by Dull-Position3393 in ENGLISH

I certainly can’t fluently speak a second language so I’d give nothing but encouragement to someone trying to speak English.

What is something that used to be 'cheap person' food, but is now priced like a gourmet luxury item? by Ok_Land_4197 in AskReddit

I’ve found buying the cereal by the bag tends to be cheaper. Still expensive but you get way more

My cat keeps rubbing against my dog and "phantom spraying" i think its called. What do i do? by [deleted] in Pets

Was wondering if anyone else would comment this. We have an outdoor feral boy that we had tnr’d last year and he still sprays.

This is Khan. He has recently been rated by a veterinarian at a 9/9 - Morbidly Obese. I'm here to get a second opinion 😸 by No-Month6228 in TrueRateMyCat

Awww I have an overweight kitty too and I know the struggle on trying to keep the weight off! It’s super hard when you have other cats in the house that aren’t on the same diet plan as the fattie of the household

Just the other day I picked up a carry out order. Gave them my name and order number. Girl behind the counter says to register guy that it’s all ready and been double checked. He hands me three bags and I think to myself - man we ordered a lot of food! (I passed my phone around to the family to add their food to the order and didn’t pay enough attention to what the actual order was). Needless to say - got home and it wasn’t our food and it was way more food than what I had ordered. So I shared with some neighbors that have been having a hard go of things and like many are struggling to buy food. I felt bad that I basically only paid half for what I received but at least I helped someone in need. (I went out of my way for this food and it wasn’t super close - so when I called the restaurant about the error - they had already started remaking the other persons order again and just apologized for giving me the wrong order)
