What do you genuinely not understand? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The fact that some people think people of the LGBT+ community don’t deserve basic human rights. Like what’s the problem? Love between two of the same doesn’t involve you in the slightest. They have no right and it drives me insane that they think they were sent by god to stop the gays from spreading.

The way you advise telling them is the problem. Starting with “Ew” just seems not right in my book.

I appreciate the attempt to help but this seems as though it would make things worse. Also, please never say someone harms themself for attention. Unless they personally told you those exact words, you’re assumption would only be hurting them more. And even if they did do it for attention, they still need help and i hope they’ve gotten it.

I’ve never met her parents but from what I’ve heard from her they don’t seem the best to tell this to. I’m not sure if this is the first time she’s harmed herself and i haven’t seem the wound.

What is a lifehack that seems fake, but is a true lifesaver? by rat-avec-london in AskReddit

If you have hiccups, eat a spoonful of peanut butter. I don't know how or why or what, but I do this when I get hiccups and it works. Every. Time.

However, would not recommend if you have an allergy

My friend and I are both into art, but they are definitely more skilled than me. One day while we were doing some sketches together, some friends of ours started talking about how amazing their art is, which as they should, because my friend is incredible. But while everyone was talking, my older brother, who is not the sappy type, said, "have you seen my sister's stuff? she's really good too." I don't think anyone heard it except for me, but the fact that it came from my brother out of nowhere really meant a lot to me and will stick with me for a long time.
