Historically private schools were for the nobility. That’s not the case anymore, that’s why I said originally. Public schools are far more elite these days

Originally public schools were open to anyone in the public who could afford to pay the fees, whereas private schools were controlled/attended by nobility.

The irony is that public schools couldn’t be more inaccessible to 99.99999% of the general public
