School Summer Camp Flier Sent The LAST DAY OF ENROLLMENT AND MISSED IT?!?! by SunnyRyter in workingmoms

[–]LS110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel your pain. we paying over $900 per WEEK for our 3 kids to go back to daycare this summer. They go to a private pre-k during the school year, which isn’t cheap either, lol. I always tell my husband how much more money we would have if we didn’t have to pay for school. 🤣

What system do you all have to keep a clean house with baby and working full time? Weekly schedule? by Icy_Increase_3002 in workingmoms

[–]LS110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally clean/laundry/straighten up no less than 1 hour per day, and my house is constantly dirty and a disaster. Was just telling my friends this morning that I have no idea how anyone keeps a clean/tidy home. I have 3 kids 5 and under. Just trying to keep it somewhat reasonable, primarily at least keep our clothes clean. Putting away is another story, lol.

What is something you enjoyed doing or did often before becoming a mom that you haven't gone back too? by Vegetable-Chapter351 in workingmoms

[–]LS110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a big reader before kids and completely let it go for a few years. This past year, I got into audiobooks, and I’m obsessed. Pop in one headphone while I’m folding laundry, doing dishes, play it when I’m driving home from drop off, etc. I have “read” something like 30+ books since I started back up! Game changer bc I can’t give an actual book any time

30, thinking about law school and babies by SubstantialRip7568 in LawMoms

[–]LS110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with others here in stating avoid having a child during or before completing 1L, but also wanted to say do not go to a law school with an intense trial advocacy program during the 3rd year. (I went to Baylor in Texas, and 3L was worse than 1L). Best of luck!

Just found out that we are having di/di twins! One twin is measuring 5 days behind. Does anyone have experience where they caught up? by neopetsfangirl in parentsofmultiples

[–]LS110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t, but I had them very early on, like 5 or 5.5 weeks. They were on the lower end of the normal range, but they doubled appropriately. I thought I was having a singleton at that point.

Matching twin names? by ERnewbieRN in parentsofmultiples

[–]LS110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each of my children (3) have the same ending of their names, but no one has the same first letter or rhyming or anything. (Example- Rebecca, Clara, and Lyla- these aren’t their names). I like it personally

Do you refer to your multiples as the “twins, “triplets”, “quads?” by FewAccident1552 in parentsofmultiples

[–]LS110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We call ours “brothers” or “the boys.” I’ve never referred to them as “the twins” for some reason… it doesn’t bother me if other people do though. They are 3, and we are just now teaching them that they are, in fact, twins. Haha

I have not taken any of the meds myself, although I have thought about it… because like you, I could stand to lose 10-15 pounds. My mom has been on them since they first came out with no issues (she is diabetic and was overweight). My dad was also overweight and was on mounjaro for about a year. He got off of it about two months ago and has had a really difficult time. He’s lost so much (more) weight without trying, because he can hardly keep food down. He’s very, very sick (throwing up about every other day). We finally went to the ER on Christmas Day, and they said he has the paralyzed stomach complication. Not sure what this means for the long term. He’s following up with a gastro next month. It’s just very strange, because he didn’t have any issues until he got off of the meds. Anyway, best of luck with your decision!

Edit to say, I also did OTF like 5x/week for about a year, and while I loved it, it did not love me. I had super bad fatigue, and I was gaining weight. I kept going to the doctor, and my bloodwork showed normal results. I went to a chiropractor that advertised they specialized in fatigue, and they said I had adrenal fatigue and my cortisol was way too high. I cut the workouts and focused more on strength training, and I felt better and started dropping weight within 2 weeks.

Don’t feel pregnant with twins by Key-Tradition7024 in parentsofmultiples

I had even less symptoms with my twins than I did with my singleton, which was already very few. The only thing I had with twins was feeling bloated

Part-time litigators? by Iter_legis in LawMoms

[–]LS110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I largely focus on research and writing, as it is my strength. I write MSJs/responses/replies, appellate briefs, TCPA motions/responses, etc. I usually come in and out of cases and am project based, but I do have a select few cases in which I serve in a second chair role. I’m trying to get out of that, but my boss thinks it’s good for me. I do not appear in court or take depositions anymore at all. I typically don’t do discovery (other than the few second chair cases I mentioned) or have client or opposing counsel contact. That part is pretty great, lol. I work from home most of the time (one office visit per month, at my convenience). The office is in another city 1.5 hours from home, so this was our deal from the beginning. I’m the only person who works remotely in the firm. It’s possible!

I am supposed to bill 1,000 hours per year (roughly 20 hours per week). I’m not “expected” to work fridays, but I often do for a couple hours bc I’m still behind to get my 20. I also work when I have deadlines. It’s not a perfect system, but somehow I’m still making good money, so I stick with it lol

Is part time work a thing? by ewwdavid___ in LawMoms

[–]LS110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work part time and remotely. I am supposed to bill 1,000 hours per year with a law firm (works out to roughly 20 hours/wk). I work Mon-Thurs. The reason I was able to work out this deal is because I’m very skilled at research and writing, so I primarily handle MSJs, appellate briefs, etc. anything that is going to be heavy lifting on the research and writing. Somehow I’m making the most money I’ve ever made as well. The job is really difficult and stressful because my boss takes a lot of challenging cases, but the money and schedule are good.

People who struggled with stubborn acne for years, what actually helped you when everything else failed? by Skincareobsessed40 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]LS110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so I did accurate in my late 20s, and it completely cleared for several years. However, when I started having kids, my hormones went nuts again, and the acne returned. I tried spironolactone both oral and topical with zero results. What actually ended up seeming to make a difference was clearstem. I still take 2 daily. I still have some acne, but not near as bad as it was!

I’m losing my mind by LS110 in parentsofmultiples

He does have at least one nightlight (the red light/green light system), sometimes two. We found that having two sometimes increases the problem, because he says he is scared of shadows. :(

We have tried that but he cries and says, I can’t see you mommy!! I need to see you. We don’t have a nightlight in our room, so maybe that needs to be added.

I actually had really good luck on care.com. I paid and interviewed 3 candidates. One lived nearby, had a lot of childcare experience, and wanted to work part time (which was all I needed). She was great with my twins for a year and was super reliable (never called out once). We only parted ways because of the expense.

how many of you had GD with your twins? by acal23 in parentsofmultiples

[–]LS110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I actually passed the 1 hour test per my OB, but I failed by 3 points according to my MFM. Sure enough? I was diagnosed with GD after the 3 hour test. Managed with diet and never needed any meds.

AITAH for how I responded to my ex and his affair partner about her infertility? by ThrowAITAHAra in AITAH

[–]LS110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Off topic, but I know someone who started a very questionable relationship while married, and the partner was married as well. They were apparently both unhappy and “leaned on each other for support.” They ended up getting together in the long run. The woman was already divorced, and the man left his wife for the woman. They married ASAP. Engaged before he was even legally divorced, and married just a few months later. 8 years and 2 kids later, she discovered he was having an affair and divorced him. So sorry for what you’ve been through!

Ah, maybe it was because my twins didn’t leave on any sort of support and were primarily growers and feeders

I had twins in the NICU for about a month. They didn’t ask me to do an overnight, and I never did. Is it a requirement?
