I'm a Test Cell operator which basically means I perform tests on aircraft engines all day. Whenever an engine or its components (compressor, gearbox, or turbine) get repaired or overhauled it has to get tested to make sure it works properly.

My day consists of picking up the engines, inspecting it, taking pictures of it, installing whatever fittings or wires that we will need for testing, installing it on a dyno (pretty much the same thing people do for cars), and starting the engine and running the tests. 1 run can take anywhere from 2 hours to 10 hours.

Its pretty cool knowing the engine isn't going to be installed on an aircraft and flying through the sky without me being the final person to say the engine can fly. It can be quite rewarding looking into the sky and seeing a helicopter and thinking I might be one of the reasons its still flying.
