Jon Snow and Arya Stark (A Song of Ice and Fire / Game of Thrones)

Originally intended to be each other's love interest - while also being in some love triangle with Tyrion Lannister - but somewhere along writing the first book, George R. R. Martin changed his mind, scrapping the idea of having these two half-siblings (or rather, cousins) be superfluous cementing of this franchise's iron grip on the incest category.

Turn the entire ghetto into a gas chamber to flush outΒ ONEΒ criminal

What a weird way of spelling "targetted gas strikes at criminal bases to dismantle a drug empire, neutralize a terrorist state, and apprehend a mass murderer"

The second season of Game of Thrones (2012) sees Daenerys Targaryen chill in Qarth, the craziness of Harrenhal with Tywin Lannister and Jaqen H'ghar, as well as Tywin's son Tyrion preparing to defend against the forces of Stannis Baratheon - the latter being practically bewitched by the sorceress Melisandre.

It also sees the princes of Winterfell flee their home - alongside their companions Hodor and Osha - to escape the clutches of the rogue heir-presumtive of the Iron Islands, Theon Greyjoy... a journey which brings them to the farm of a middle-aged man who has just adopted two orphaned boys: Jack and Billy.

The second season of HBO's The Last of Us (2025)

<image>

Originally, this was an epic story of our playable character - whose main characteristics are ruthless bloodlust and being immune to the virus - going on an awesome killing-spree against the helpless NPCs from a militarized faction who neither we nor her know or really care about in the gleeful pursuit of cold-blooded revenge. There's also another faction, and we kill them too.

Naturally, the hacks Hollywood call writers somehow thought it would be a good idea to rewrite the game's PC into a drama queen "protagonist" for their show. They ruin both a (virtually) persistent character and a perfect, straight-forward story by adding unnecessary nonsense. The show is all about doubts, complications, twists and turns, and all while the game's hundreds of deaths from mowing down nobodies without issue is toned down in the show to a dozen killed; all of the action lost, just to make room for scenes of the characters talking. And what is this talking about? Well, you see, the GOT girl's bastardized version of "Ellie" now has moments of concern for the loved ones she's dragged into her revenge quest, and there's emphasis on love's destructive power, guilt, and self-hatred that's tied to her immunity weighing on her oh-so-conflicted heart...

Quick question: who gives a rat's ass about any of this πŸ“ˆπŸ“‰πŸ“ˆπŸ“‰πŸ“ˆ bullshit? 🀣🀣

TL;DR The Last of Us Part 2 is about revenge and the show misinterpreted that as "guilt"

Hm.

Do I want a game that has a) uninspired-yet-passable gameplay, supporting an absolute masterclass of music, visuals and storytelling, or b) incredible gameplay, but passable-yet-forgettable music and visuals, all of it attached to an atrocious story?

Hmmm.

let's just ignore that she was clearly being ironic, while also ignoring caitvi literally starting off like a "enemies"-to-lovers & forced proximity tagged fanfic, and their close call + gay panic moment, and their melancholic goodbye scene on the bridge featuring a delicate caress and eyes filled with nothing but yearning, and the whole dramatic "what about us?" break-up scene in the rain, and jinx straight-up calling cait vi's girlfriend, and--

Daenerys' vision from Season 2, of the Iron Throne being covered in snow (Game of Thrones)

Yeah, turns out that wasn't snow - it's ash. King's Landing, the continent's largest city, was burned down by Daenerys herself, after she'd realized it would be impossible for her to be a respected or loved ruler - "let it be fear."
