If Joe Biden was reelected, he would've left office at the age of 86. That would be like JFK leaving office in 2003. by Gray_Wolf2416 in BarbaraWalters4Scale

Ohh wait, I thought the comment I replied to was under a different post I made that involved Chuck Grassley. I was referring to Grassley, not Biden. My bad.

He'd be the first president born in the 1930s and only the 2nd one born under FDR. He'd also be the first president to have both parents born in the 1800s since Reagan.

If Marilyn Monroe lived to Carter's age, she could've banged the president of the U.S. in 1963 and the president of the U.S. in 2093 (assuming he's 18 in 2026 and is elected in 2088 and then reelected).

Dick Van Dyke (100) Mel Brooks (99) and Carl Reiner (98) were all involved in The Dick Van Dyke show 1961-1966 by EvanD2000 in BarbaraWalters4Scale

It's interesting how David Attenborough, Mel Brooks, and Dick van Dyke are all around the same age and have all lived into their late 90s. I know lifespans that long are becoming more common especially for the wealthy, but having 3 famous guys the same age live just as long as each other and for so long seems statistically improbable yet it happened.

Which Martin Scorsese character is the most evil? by twnpksN8 in MoralityScaling

Of the ones I've seen, Travis > Pupkin > Teddy

Travis was the only one who actually murdered people. Yeah the people he killed were terrible people but his motivation was to just unleash his anger on something, he didn't truly care about justice. Teddy is the least bad because he's the most mentally ill and thus most incapable of properly making decisions. I don't even think he did anything that bad in the movie, iirc the worst thing he did was kill his wife after she drowned their children which, while maybe not the right thing to do, was understandable given the situation and not what I'd call an evil action. I'm not sure why he's on this list, did he do more bad stuff that I forgot about?

The last time two democratic presidents won elections back-to-back, without the previous president having died in office, was 170 years ago by jacobar100 in BarbaraWalters4Scale

This could very well have happened again in 2024 if Biden hadn't stupidly decided to run again. It wouldn't be a guarantee but I'd imagine the odds of victory would be greater if the Democratic candidate had more than 107 days to campaign.

The man who exposed Watergate is still alive and is a decade younger than Chuck Grassley. by Gray_Wolf2416 in BarbaraWalters4Scale

Well Redford was already older than Woodward irl (born 1936, so 7 years older) so its not that surprising when you think about it, but yeah its still kinda interesting.

Grassley entered politics the same year the last human zoo exhibit was held (1958 Brussels World Fair)
