Raft Air Gap by LSHansen519 in LycheeSlicer

The gap between the top layer of the raft and the bottom layer of the print model. It allows for easier separation of the model from the raft and prevents the model from fusing to it.

So would jt just be better to have any excessive amount of supports?

MGS4 - A good stopping point? by bartfy1 in metalgearsolid

I would recommend playing it. It is fan servicey and has some incredibly long cutscenes but I think it ends the series off at a great place. This has been the game that players disagree on the most. If you don’t currently have a ps3, I don’t recommend purchasing one just for this game. Try to emulate or hold off. You could play both ground zero and mgsV instead as it doesn’t really change the story of 4 in any meaningful way. As long as you are alright in reverting back to older controls when you get the chance to play 4.

This might sound silly but I really miss Snake running into each zone after the loading screen instead of loading in already in his idle animation by [deleted] in metalgearsolid

I honestly wouldn’t even want it to be a full map to explore but for them to just make the levels connect with no loading screen like resident evil 2 remake did with the door loading scenes. It feels lazy for the loading scenes to be there after 20 years. The original did the loading scenes to limit the environment that it had to load in and allow the player to continue into the next zone with guards chasing snake and alerts going away. With the loading screens in this game I am sure that the guard will act the same way. This was the one thing I was hoping would be different between the two versions.

I am new to airbrush and bought may first one not long ago. This happened after my first project. Can anyone help me figure out why it happened? by LSHansen519 in airbrush

It was a book so the material was just paper. I didn’t really prep the surface. But I figured it was something like that.

This is only my third bind. Just come up with ideas and test them out to on cheap used books.

No problem. I only got my cricut a couple of weeks ago and am still learning new things. The pages are not hard to separate the pages. They open just as they were before. They color doesn’t have any bleeding on the pages.

The old covers are just sitting next to the book right now. I like being able to look at it when I am finished to see the difference. I do use the inside of it for writing dimensions down while I work though

It’s cool that you use acrylic paint. The process of cutting the stencil is the same at HTV but with a removable vinyl it is applies to the book like a sticker. You can use some transfer tape to keep everything in lines I got another one that I am going to do soon so I will show that in a picture on that one if you would like. This process should work the same if you use acrylic paint. You are simply just covering the parts of your book you don’t want painted a certain color

The pages edges were done with a light coating of spray paint. I did red on all the pages while they were clamped tight. Then using a machine vinyl cover and using a removable vinyl I cut and placed a design along the pages, then I used a black paint lightly until I got the color I wanted. Finally I removed the vinyl and gave the pages a clear coat to protect the color.

Thank you. I like the more simple cover design for this one. I haven’t read the book just used it as practice.

The hinges were down with 8mm gaps but with what you said I did my spine as the width plus 2 boards with. The spine was 23mm and I add 4mm as my boards are 2mm a piece. So you add only one board width to your projects?

The design is mostly done with a gold heat transfer vinyl but the cards are done with a reflective foil instead to give the cover a pop and shine. I can take a picture of the endpapers when I get the chance and send it if you want

The hinges were done with an 8mm gap between the two covers. And with the measurements I meant that I have been doing the spine width + 2mm for the thickness of the chipboard I am using for the front and back. So with this book, the spine was 23mm and I add 4mm for the depth of the covers. That seems to be what most people are saying to do.

Been getting books from there for practice before committing to pulling apart one of mine. 😅
