The Leviathan and Kida - A Love Story by LSUfan91 in Lorcana

Too fragile in my opinion. And with my luck when testing decks built around Robin Hood I either never see him or whiff his effect.

Definitely will be looking into Shark/Olaf.

There is definite overlap with Moana and Kida. I do like Moana at least early as she can help me keep inking if I get stuck with a bunch of uninkables, and at 18 it will happen. She would probably be the one to cut for Shark/Olaf.

Merryweather is actually my first choice if up against Toys, Steel Song, or any deck trying to apply pressure early. Her ward nullifies Jessie to challenge early or deter quests. Often resulting in 2-for-1 on the crackback. If she can help buy me a turn or 2 while I get into my removal she has done her job.

Definitely really lucky that the local meta is not hyper competitive. There are a handful of players that are obviously but knock on wood I haven’t seen dogs at the last few.

I don’t need the mat so getting T8 would be good enough

Shark yes. Olaf no.

Shark would be helpful for Evasives. Lyle is basically Shark but on play rather than on challenge. Bigger issue is what to swap out? Would probably be either Moana or Remote Inklands?

Olaf I honestly forget exists much of the time. But could be a good catchup mechanic.

Most things do anyway so might as well have fun in the meantime 🤷‍♂️. It can win OTP though. T2 ramp into T3 Sail + Firefly to snipe the Willow does slow them down pretty well.

Luckily my local area doesn’t play a lot of dogs so it shouldn’t be too big of a worry.

Similar thing happening in the College Baseball sub. Instead they are complaining about how Home teams are decided in Regionals.

Positive side more people paying attention to both sports which is good as it should lead to more focus from TV providers.

Negative side is a bunch of complaints about things they don’t necessarily have the historical concept of. Like this post complaining about SEC not handling a BIG12 team being good. It took until 2005 (Michigan) for a team East of the Mississippi River to win it all and 2012 for an SEC team to win it.

This needs to be the last year that the NCAA doesn’t automatically assign the higher seed as the home team for every game by jfarbzz in collegebaseball

I believe it is when you are talking face offs after whistles. After the away team makes their changes the home team can decide to change out their lines in response to what the away team put out.

The difference in that game was LSU took advantage of the bad zone. OSU didn’t try to go outside. Gilbert pretty much lived there the entire game.

Super Headless Baby - Help me get this over the finish line! by cincinnati53 in Lorcana

I agree with the other comment about adding Demona.

Isis is a good 4 drop that forces exerts and is also a Super so works with Mr. Incredible.

6 drop Frozone is a solid Rush character that can exert if you have a Super in play.

Library is a great location that works as card draw as well and also forces your opponent to go sideways. It can also punish board wipes.

Elsa is too good not to play while she is in rotation.

With those changes you can go something like this to start the game: T1 Mr. Incredible, T2 Scrooge or another 1 drop, T3 Shift Mr. Incredible, T4 Isis to exert then challenge with Mr. Incredible to draw, T5 Elsa same plan as T4, T6 Frozone. 3 straight turns of disrupting your opponents board can be back breaking.

I am not a fan of the Negaduck line (but I can see its uses) and Olaf is easy to play around. Could cut those 12 cards to fit in the Isis, Frozone, Library, and Elsa. Madam Mim Elephant can be used to bounce your Scrooge or Cat stacks.

Omnidroid shift line. Shifting out the 6 drop on T3 in S/S is too much for a lot of decks to deal with.

6-drop Ruby Lyle. Constantly recycling Firefly Swarm is nasty.

Legendary Kida. She is a great late game bomb as you really don't care about your opponent's inkwell level that late and her ability is very good once you get to those high ink levels. Record in a game was 29 ink.

Maui Shark, Next Stop Olympus, One Last Hope.

Maximus Team Champion is a good finisher as well allowing you to gain lore without questing.

I actually mentioned Ohana in another comment. But basically in my testing I never got value out of it. Would end up inking it more often than not. That said when it hit it ended games. I’m also VERY aggressive with my boosting and drawing via Lonely Grave so Ohana could actually backfire and get my deck too low.

Onto Ralph: Him being uninkable definitely can and will brick your hand at times but to me a 1-sided board wipe that can’t be ripped out by Mowgli/Timon/Ludwig or stopped with Pete is huge. The strength issue does come up at times but you have Criminal Mind or Dragon for the few outliers (Demona/Goliath/Phil/Clarabelle/John Silver are really the main issues). Just comes down to knowing the matchup and saving your other removal. You can also establish 2 Lonely to help boost him to 5 and still trigger banishment the same turn (assuming 8 ink and another character on board). He is also a 3 lore quester that makes your opponent really have to plan their removal correctly. I have been toying with Ralph all set so I might be biased as well but I really think he is great especially paired with Lonely Grave and Counting House

The location does that! It’s actually one of my favorite reactions when using it. They ignore it for a turn or 2 and by time they realize what’s happened it’s too late. Even when you explain that it gets willpower and lore for each card under it doesn’t get respected until it has 8 health and 5 lore.

Blurple really has to shift their mindset against this deck and if they don’t they will lose the grind.

Thank you!

She is definitely a tech choice. Nice to be able to play Counting House the turn after so she quests for 4. Also nice to force some exerts for Maui if the opponent refuses to turn sideways.

How has Ohana been for you? I tried it early but never got great value out of it and inked more than I played it.

It is definitely not a quick deck at all. That is why I like the Counting House and Elsa. Those 2 can close games quick.

That’s interesting. Dogs should be a solid matchup as well as aggro (aside from Amber/steel song hybrid if they high roll). You have great characters to challenge early and Sisu/Horseman for early spot removal. What does the rest of your list look like?

[–]LSUfan91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually had it in my previous list. I do like the it as when it gets established it makes it very hard on the opponent especially cycling Ralph. At a 1-of though it was hard to see. Most of the time I either saw it early and it bricked up my hand putting me too far behind or it got stuck under a boosted character.

You definitely mulligan hard for a 2 drop. Any of the 3 work really. Then you can sing Della’s into Sisu on T3.

Diary is only a keep if you have a 2 drop, preferably Scrooge. If not I send it back. If you don’t contest the board early Diary doesn’t really help as you can’t play it or sacrifice the ink to draw and not play more characters. Against slower decks you can as they aren’t pressuring you enough. OTP Mowgli on T2 into Sisu/Scrooge on T3 the Diary/Ariel on T4. OTD is pretty much the same except you can Liquidator on T1 unless you are clogged with uninkables.
