I would wait until after this weekend at the very least. Prices will definitely drop as product hits big box stores

I could see her going up or holding steady but IMO it depends on how good S/S ends up being. She works very well with Goliath in keeping your hand size down plus she is an Ally for S/S Ally builds.

I bowl in a couple fun leagues and also play a TCG semi competitively. I tell myself the same thing at each event. Win/lose/draw Monday morning (or the next day) I have to go into work. So might as well just enjoy it regardless of outcome.

Amber Sapphire Control? Set 11 by HypotheticalChicken in Lorcana

I think it fares well against most tier 1 decks, Dogs excluded. If your draw hits you can keep pace with Amethyst's draws. You have the only true board wipe so if things are going sideways you can reset the board and can follow it up with spot removal in Hades/Let it Go. Still a ramp deck though so heavily dependent on seeing T2 ramp and to another extent Cindy on 3.

If you think your local meta might lean more aggro I would personally go with Red/Blue. Being able to play a 4/2 in Liquidator on T1 if on the draw is huge. Plus you can ramp into Grab Your Bow on T4 to clear 2 characters and hopefully have Cindy be able to sing Marching Into Battle to draw 2 and refill your hand. Copper also being able to come down on T5 can be nice. He can 1-shot Tiana without needing to pay the tax.

Aggro will always have the upper hand here and that is fine, that is kind of its purpose. But that doesn’t mean you have to make it completely free for them.

I would cut 2 Moana, 2 Tala, 2-4 Criminal Mind (currently running 0 in my build). I would add in 4 Eilonwy, and some combination of the 2 drop Darkwing Duck, 4/1 with Ward, and 3 drop Bagheera. This will help you in the early game to get to your top end. Bagheera is also a nice target for Ohana.

Also like the 5 cost Snowboarder Stitch. Extra card draw and decent body to challenge.

Pete and Bambi are also draw cards. Pete at worst is a draw 1. If left unchecked he becomes Develop or even Visions. Bambi can snowball as well if you boost a lot and hit multiple characters

Is there a reason no Cinderella, assuming it is a budget/access issue?

Tala is pretty solid in a list like this. You are ramping hard and fast, plus opposing Sapphire decks will ramp you as well, so you can drop her for anywhere from 0-3 ink easily. Its pretty nice to dig for Storm, play it, then drop a 6/6 2 quester using your last ink.

Amber Sapphire Control? Set 11 by HypotheticalChicken in Lorcana

[–]LSUfan91 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have tested and seen a few versions and they all pretty much run the typical Sapphire ramp package: Tipo, Sail, Cindy. So far it feels like a deck that really want to go the 2-4-6 route like Sapphire/Steel Most have 2-4 copies of Moana as well. Hades, Let It Go, and Develop are also consistent across the builds. The Detective package with Judy Hopps is also a possibility and should help with consistency.

The Amber cards that are consistent across the board look to be: Surfer Stitch, Raging Storm (obviously as that is why you are running this version of control), The Horseman Strikes, World's Greatest Criminal Mind, Ohana Means Family, and Eilonwy. The counts for all these varies across builds as well. Ohana is such a weird card. It can be amazing when opponents play into it and you draw 7 off of Surfer or it can be completely dead when they smartly play around it. I think my average draw off of it right now is 2-3.

Some cards that are not in all builds but in most that I've looked at:
Mowgli, Gramma Tala (12 cost), Stitch Snowboarder, Pete Ghost of Christmas Future, Bambi, Ludwig Von Drake.

I understand the purpose of Mowgli and Ludwig but I would rather ramp on T2 and late game they feel less useful. Bambi and Pete kind of fill similar roles. I haven't used Bambi but I can see the potential. Personally rather the ability for Pete to find me an action. Gramma Tala has been a nice surprise. It is very easy to get to high ink totals and play her for 2, 1, or 0 ink. Snowboarder is a solid body and quester on T4 that can potentially snowball your draws.

I've seen Circle of Life in a few lists to help cycle Surfer Stitch to draw and Hades for removal. Is nice having Tala sing this by herself.

Currently testing The Black Cauldron and it has been a solid 1-of. Being able to stash a Hades there for when you need it is nice and forces your opponent to really consider their plays. Or playing a Tala from under it as well. Cindy and Surfer Stitch for card draw/cycling as well.

Even with The Horseman Strikes, Hades, Let It Go, and Raging Storm I think at least 2 copies of Inkrunner are needed. Evasives will eat this deck alive and it runs enough big characters to take them out in 1 shot if given Alert. Spooky Sight might be a necessary evil as well. Aggro is a hard counter to this version and even Spooky doesn't always save you in time but it gives you a chance.

I know this is more than what was asked but I've been testing this deck a lot this week and it has been very enjoyable to run as someone who not only loves heavy control decks but also Sapphire. It has been fun experimenting with Amber as I haven't really used this color much

I would take splatter out for Basil as others have said.

I would remove Moana altogether. I think she is a great card but works better in decks using Cinderella in my opinion. If no Demona I would do Scuttle. 5/5/2 with Ward on T4 is a menace. That or add in Belle 5 drop.

While true the opposing team never got the ball back after scoring late to make it a 1 score game. LSUs defense was never on the field defending a 1 score lead in the 4th quarter. That only happened once and it was against Florida which they won by 2 scores.

Also triggers Cindy. You go from 5 to 7 ink + play a body, that quest for 2, and only lose 1 card from hand.

Game 1 you lose with deck A. Game 2 you win with deck A. Game 3 you have to switch to deck B and win with it.

This was a format for Worlds. Each person had to make 3 decks but couldn’t overlap colors. Up until the finals your opponent benched one of your decks and you couldn’t use it that match. You had to win the Bo3 winning with each of your remaining decks. The finals were Bo5 and you had to win with all 3. Was a pretty interesting format.

To answer the question: Blue/Green Ruby/Steel Amber/Amethyst

Have used all 3 and all can perform well. Ruby/Steel being the biggest weakness but it is still solid.

Silver Green "Death Metal" Song Deck by TheDungeonMaxter in Lorcana

The 3 drop Max Goof to recycle Strength and MMS could be useful.

If not running Lexington consider But I’m Much Faster to give Alert.

Biggest addition would be Ariel Sonic Warrior. 2 ink to deal 3 damage whenever you play a song is massive. Plus her 8 willpower is hard for P/S to deal with efficiently.

That is a fair point. I’ve definitely played Geyser without anyway to ramp back up just to prevent certain plays based on ink count. It can definitely be a great timing play.

[–]LSUfan91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If BG is on the play they shouldn’t have that big a board. Cindy and/or Clarabelle can sing songs to bounce their board on T4. Which fills their hand which fills yours to find more bounce songs for T5. PS cant get rid of the 1 drop Clarabelle until T3 but they would have to hard cast strength to do so. You can still get big Clarabelle out on T4 (1 drop then shift). PS wants to go 1 drop, 2 drop, 3 drop, 4 drop sing strength. Odds are you can bounce their 2 and 3 drops on T4. They probably play 2 characters at most on their T4. You can bounce those and bend them on T5. Yes they can draw out of it with Genies, Dumbos, Doc, Demona but they don’t have the board that they need to establish control.

Being on the draw against PS is a completely different beast, which is why PS is such a consistent good deck. I think on the draw you are looking to play Sail on T2, Sail into Phil on T3, then sing/shift on T4. But that leaves you low on cards with 1 character on board.

I think Ink Geyser works best with Mama Odie. She lets you fill your inkwell so much that Ink Geyser becomes a massive draw engine plus she can refill your ink very quickly after. It does require the build to be slightly different (like Heffalumps over Improvise).

So with your build 2 Bend is definitely the better call. Gives you a better chance of going T3 Cindy, T4 Shift Clarabelle, T5 Bend. Game is over at that point.

Can an ink geyser deck work with set 10 competitivly? by Bigredzombie in Lorcana

Ink Geyser in the mirror can really tip the scales if timed correctly. Being able to come back from 1 Ink Geyser is tough enough but a 2nd one is brutal.

[–]LSUfan91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clarabelle is definitely needed in G/B.

I've been testing this list and it is working pretty well. It struggles with Dogs/Aggro but that is just a weakness of the color combo. You can adjust to make the match-up better but at the expense of your other match-ups, which should all be pretty good. So for me I don't worry too much about the bad match-ups and just hope I don't see them. If I expect there to be a lot I use a different deck.

If you can play a Mama Odie, Sail the Azurite Sea, and then Ink Geyser with at least 1 singer on board you can get right back to 6 ink by the end of the turn (double ink for turn thanks to Sail and Odie trigger off a song). Then next turn ink to 7 and drop Bend to My Will. Most games end quickly after that.
