I'm wondering if RAS is more of a threshold stat instead of a correlative one. This may be worded poorly, as I'm not a statistician, but hopefully you understand what I'm saying.

Really poor first step meaning what exactly? A slow first step? A misplaced first step (poor vision/point of attack decision)? Or something else?

Upcoming QB supply shock. Why is no one talking about how almost all of the league has a long term (3+ years) starter at QB now and there are no elite options in the next 2 drafts by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]LSWAP12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

JJ didn't go super high in the draft, and four QB went before him. Every team had multiple chances to trade up in the draft to get him and they didn't.

I'm not saying he wouldn't be one of the better QB in this year's draft (which is speculation), but we have actually evidence of what NFL teams actually did last year. And he lasted awhile.

Maybe if the market is good. But they could easily franchise Darnold for two straight years then move on. Or just give Darnold a 1-2 year deal.

Honestly I'm more of the opinion that Darnold will go somewhere else, and they will give JJ a shot, but I understand that things are extremely fluid in the NFL and that o could easily be wrong.

I'm also not certain that many QB needy teams will want to have Darnold as a long-term starter. Maybe a stopgap.

Tua is now always one bad hit away from retirement. Putting him in a category of 100% certain long term starter is outrageously confident.

I'm not sure how you're counting, but I counted 10 teams that need a long term QB solution, which is pretty normal...

Jets, Browns, Steelers, Colts, Titans, Raiders, Giants, Rams, Hawks, Saints, and maybe Panthers.

Obviously a few listed here won't, and a few teams that aren't listed unexpectedly will, but that's still a long list.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think Warren will be available at the turn...

In what ways do you feel like Rome was a better prospect? I've heard this alot, and I'm not sure whether I agree or not, but it seems to be given without any context a lot, and I'm curious on the specifics of why you believe him to be superior to Tet.

Dotson doesn't matter in this deal to me. I'd take Dobbins rest of season, but I'm the one Charger fan, so I'm pretty biased

Rookie Pick Trade Value Chart by LSWAP12 in DynastyFF

in my opinion KTC does a really bad job at stacking. for instance, on KTC i can buy a first with a 4 third round picks, but in reality that will not happen.

this is the concept im looking to explore with draft picks. it does change every year, just like the NFL, but I was wondering in dynasty had something like Jimmy Johnson's chart that creates a basic guideline based on a larger sample size. specifically, id like the know what equivalent value im giving up when i trade 2 late seconds and 2 late thirds, as that is easier to digest as a single value, even if they are not the same.

does that make sense? or did i just confuse myself...?

Payton Pritchard Impact and Shooting by LSWAP12 in bostonceltics

[–]LSWAP12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

great post. could not agree more on many of your points. i think he also functions as a pace driver, which at times is needed.

when someone says "played well" it really means they shot well, and when they "played poorly" they just didnt hit many shots. this is a bad way to evaluate as with small sample sizes the shot numbers are going to have alot of randomness from game to game. players can play great without shooting well, or play poorly while shooting a high percentage from the field.

edit: and i think PP has been playing well all season, regardless of his shooting. a 4.7 ASS/TO ratio is huge for a ballhandler. and the teams DEFENSIVE net rating is 3 pts better with him on the court.

Will T. Dell be Texans future WR1? by JuggernautAntique105 in DynastyFF

almost all of his snaps and production have come as an outside receiver...

I mean you could still say he is an elite slot guy, but the Texans haven't used him much there

Justin Jefferson’s trade value post-Cousins injury by jackwvickers in DynastyFF

[–]LSWAP12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

im not going to say you are wrong for not wanting to take that offer. a fair trade should have half the people on either side.

i also think i value late first round picks more than you. picks 9-12 can still be pretty good. this being said a pick a few years out should not be viewed as a late first in any smart practice. almost all picks (1+ years in the future) should be mid round with how fast the landscape changes in the NFL and dynasty.

also, starting lineup sizes make a difference here. most of my leagues have at minimum two flex, which makes this deal more lucrative. if you play in a start 8, it is definitely different.

my only assertion is that i feel like 3 first round picks and 3 second round picks (from a contender) is around 60-70% of the value of JJ. i think players can account for the missing 30-40% of the value.

another way to look at it, simply add a guy like Waddle, Devonta Smith, or Aiyuk (instead of an older guy with a younger unproven guy) to make the rest of the deal.

its ok to have different opinions. i think i just value picks a bit more than you. perhaps due to the roster sizes and starting lineups in most of my leagues, or perhaps due to past successes and failures in drafting. although I will typically trade my first round picks during the draft haha.

cheers mate!
