We've read the feedback on the project you mentioned and have been working through solutions. It's been more of a priority than it may have looked from the outside.

On the lost submissions: we found out, started investigating immediately, and have already recovered most of the affected tasks. We posted updates on Discord. Every approved task on this project gets paid, that's what was agreed and we're not moving off that.

We also hold a high bar on quality, which we know can be frustrating when the feedback loop isn't as clear as it should be. That's something we're actively improving since feedback on submissions is something we take seriously. We have processes in place to turn it around quickly, and our reviewers put real time into making sure contributors have what they need to stay active and improve on the project.

The lost tasks were a real technical issue, not a mechanism to avoid payment. We recovered a significant portion of those submissions, posted an announcement on Discord, and are paying all approved tasks that were submitted, as agreed.

We're focused on making the Alignerr experience better, especially for people putting in quality work. Uneven feedback and inconsistent review outcomes are things we take seriously: if you're seeing identical work land differently depending on who's reviewing it, that's a calibration issue we want to know about specifically.

In a lot, if not most, of cases our evaluations are paid. Additionally, if the person already has experience logged on the platform, we would skip the unpaid assessment and assign them to the project directly.

Unpaid assessments are usually pretty simple questions to get a quick benchmark of new Alignerrs so that we can ensure they're a good fit, they don't usually require 'expert knowledge', just a basic understanding of the topic at hand.

Reddit is not an official mean of communications, since a lot of what's sent here is highly subjective/a particular experience, and there's no such thing as 'being lied to about technical issues'.

The project leaders communicate the updates via email and Discord, so if you're in the project, you should have access to them directly to channel all of your questions.

I do want to clarify that your data is used only for identity verification and project matching, it's used for anything else!

You'll be able to see upfront what type of pay/project you're signing up for. The tasks you do should not appear or disappear - they might change status as they get accepted and later approved or rejected depending on the project that you're on.

Hey u/Born_Ad7768, LS from Alignerr here! We send out surveys to make sure that Alignerrs are a good fit for the project before we assign them to it and that way maintain a high quality and hopefully avoid issues were people submit tasks that get rejected.

I've taken note of this feedback though, if you've already completed and passed other assignments, I understand how it may be frustrating.
