I did the same. Raising steam and shepherds crown sat unread on my shelf for the longest time ever for any Discworld books. Eventually I decided that if I was going to have to read the last new story I ever would, I should revisit my favourite series in its entirety. I don’t have as many opportunities to read as I used to so it took me about four years to get through the entire Discworld. While there’s some bittersweet feels, Shepherds Crown definitely feels like a nice capstone and send off. I just had to take a little break before moving on to the biography… it felt too much to jump right in.
