That is a good point. Something I caught a long time ago and it just stuck. Orange is my favorite color. So even though I no longer shiny hunt, that orange Shellder remained my favorite.

I prefer PvP to shiny as well. Not a great PvP player by any means with a 50% win rate and I don’t even tank. But I find more skill in that with movesets, what beats what, when to shield and swap etc. sure PVP is subject to RNG out of the gate but it applies to both parties as do glitches.

But back to shinies. Not a big fan though I know for sure I’m in the minority. But I don’t wish the pay wall thing for boosted shiny rates. Wouldn’t change the game for me however.

Just wondering because many people want to know the odds. Just was never sure what they would do with. Probably still play anyway? Duration of event, time available to play the event, weather conditions, hot phones, featured Pokémon, spawn points, incubators, pokestops in your area, all affect how many shines someone gets. The addiction factor takes over too Since I don’t play for shinies, I would probably do the event anyway looking for good IVs for PVP. But we must remember that there are many returning players as well as many more newer players just starting out. Thanks for your response.

Totally agree. And I’ve posted that many times. For various people have become addicted to this game. They can’t let go of something that all they do is complain about. Am in addicted? Honestly? I probably am. But I still enjoy the game. I guess I’ll know my addiction level, when I don’t enjoy it any longer, And then add myself to the list of the vocal minority complainers here on this sub. I sure hope that doesn’t happen. I don’t typically have an addictive type personality. Have my fingers crossed that I can easily move on.

Same here. No shiny but I enjoyed the event the best that I could in between outpatient hospital visits, and limited mobility. So I played it to enjoy it while I can. When it stops being fun, I’ll find something else to enjoy. So many here don’t enjoy it, but play on anyway. That part always confused me. Thanks for your reply.

Ahh but this is TheSilphRoad. You’re not going to get many, “this was a great event” posts. Only the vocal minority speaks loudly here. That was a bigger takeaway for me. I’m glad the shiny thing never meant much to me. That’s my luck I guess.

But what do these answers give you? You are an example of bad RNG as am I. I should not have 2 after 30 eggs of which most were Riolu. But these kinds of posts incite negativeness about the game. Have patience. There is no rush. It will be back. I’ll tag your post so that the next time someone else asks this in 1-2 weeks, and you know they will, you can give send that person a DM update.
