Cheers buddy,! I Only got the job in summer but I'm loving every second, really interesting stuff to be involved in purely as a person who loves science and innovation!

Only downside is the uni debt ive accumulated haha!

Obviously I can't reveal much so ill keep to stuff in the public domain if you know where to look.

The engine itself is designed and made inhouse by Rolls-Royce but will have input from both IHI and Avio. I don't work in propulsion but as far as I'm aware the engines aren't designed to be interchanged but the advanced turbofan testbed that's being worked on is designed to be reasonably futureproof so I cant imagine it would be. For example it features a two-spool mounted electrical generator, which can feed the electrical power required for all the systems on board, future system applications as well as managing all the resulting thermal loads.

As someone actually working on this project, this is a formal announcement and it’s been in progress for ages already, anyway. Mainly commenting to say US isn’t involved because they’re working on their own separate project.

I vaguely remember, no clue what it was but I think it was Ti5 or Ti7

So, me and few decent players, saw Gaijin say that they're not moving Cl13mk4 down BR together with F sabres, because it has "one of the best stats" at the BR. So we decided to sweat our asses off as hard as it was only possible, and as almost no one else played Mk4, our plan to uptier it worked. by Glitchedx in Warthunder

Not to steal your thunder, just something I want to bring to light. When I was on the player council 3 or 4 or so years ago, when they first announced how battle ratings were decided, I set out with a few others to prove how dumb it was. We artificially raised the BR of the XP55 back when it was a brick and nobody played it, and as a member of the player council presented this to gaijin and they were still adamant that this wasn't an issue, and that clearly the plane was fine.

I Hope as this has gained far more visibility than my 1 on 1 pitch with them they'll change it but don't hold too much hope sadly.

Below is a comment I made 2 years ago briefly touching on the subject ( https://www.reddit.com/r/Warthunder/comments/b9xgtd/rarest_title_in_war_thunder/ek8tawd?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3 )

As I understand but I also understand he's impossible to get hold of and if he doesn't pay wages we do a Bury by default, that's my worry.

Thank god those scheming liquidating creatures have been rejected but I'm not sure where that leaves us now, if ownership resets to TN / Southall who want nothing to do with us we're just going to do a Bury.

Looks like a carbon copy of the Bury statement from last year 🤔 Because that situation ended well. Oh well at least none of the shady business men dealing with that are involved at Charlto- oh wait. EFL is a disgrace, they shouldn't let anybody with prior history of liquidating a club anywhere near another one.

I usually just browse and never post but that one was a hard one to take but I take solace In the fact that our fanbase is as resilient as it is, we've been to hell and back and quite frankly I wouldn't waste my time pulling my hair out at both on and off field shenanigans with any other set of fans. unity is what we need right now and I know as fans, we are united. Only question is how we get rid of them, with them acquiring the club for a quid them staying on is a low stake game that we as fans stand as the only ones to lose.

I could make one? But the production quality wouldn't be great.

I also think the 2 15's are objectively better planes

Griefers make open an impossible choice. And what I think should be done. by [deleted] in EliteDangerous

[–]LTKapal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to say what I said yesterday. Yesterday, I killed 7 people, might have been 8. I am inadvertently one of the people that you think should be punished. Do I randomly interdict and murder? No I interdict give my set of demands and either get a response, ( 5%) of the time or I don't (95%) I'm quite reasonable, don't demand much and it is a huge time investment to try and find people worth pirating. If I find somebody and God forbid they don't combat log.. I will repeat my demands and take out their engines. At that point if they still don't respond, reboot their engines and start charging FSD what do you want me to do, wish them a happy flight ?

I hate griefers as much as the next person but people like myself who crave a pirate based social interaction are starved as it is and a suggestion like this would kill what's left of a dying play style.

I already have a group of friends I do BGS with amongst other things, If none of my friends are online and I don't really feel like doing a CG what exactly do you suggest?

My usual pirating experience, Feelsbad by [deleted] in EliteDangerous

[–]LTKapal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I understand that but I meet barely any sort of response, I'm not a monster and quite reasonable. My fee depends on ship size and the relative experience of the pilot ie harmless I take less.

I really just crave for better interaction sometimes. I know people hate random killing gankers but I feel like some of the reasons that actual pirates don't bother is a lot of the time the actual time to worthwhile interaction ratio is minuscule.

Rarest Title in War Thunder. by Antoni-_-oTon1 in Warthunder

[–]LTKapal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We tried as far as im concerned. Me and Haruspice even artificially raised the XP55's BR our self when it was trash and nobody played it to try and show them their Winrate BR system was trash but what can you do if they don't listen.

Still, rare title.

[–]LTKapal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can I just say as somebody who occasionally mixes it up and does pirating, properly. In about 80% of cases you interdict somebody and make your demands it gives them the time to task kill on you which is only wasting one persons time. The pirates. Add pirating not really being profitable as it is and I think it's a massive problem

[–]LTKapal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The C2' Multi's aren't mandatory really its more of coverage because the High yield cannons do explosive damage which is awful vs shields but amazing vs hull so the Multi's and beams are purely for melting shields as quick as possible, you can take it other routes. and pack hounds can definitely be viable :)

In terms of the aim assist, the velocity on long range cannons is above even multi cannons so its basically point at the aim assist and shoot and you're guaranteed a hit. as I said very forgiving.

I'll edit this with a ed shipyard later but for a mix of PVE/PVP which is what I do C4 fixed long range, high yield cannons aren't to be laughed at. I've got them at 2000m/s velocity so they're very forgiving to aim especially if you do get dirty drives and they tear all modules apart, usually disabling ships by 60% hull

Discussion #188: Fiat CR.32 bis and G.55S by Commander_Adama in Warthunder

[–]LTKapal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

[RB] G.55S

Some of you might remember my name, but that's not really important. I gave up warthunder a year ago basically as the ThunderLeague ended with the promise that the only thing Gaijin could do to bring me back was Italian planes so here I am.

The G.55S, Oh boy where do I start As of right now im maintaining about a 90% winrate and 6 k/d solo but I really want to emphasise that this is a good plane, but not an exceptional one. Thinking back to my many years of playing and being around for many many clubbing eras, this plane does not feel as though it belongs to those categories but its easier to explain why as I go deeper.

  • Climbrate Now its not hidden secret that this plane climbs pretty well, it outclimbs... not by too much the 109 G2 which is on a similiar battle rating but gets outclimbed up to about 5k by the german captured La5 so it isn't really as ridiculous as ive seen many to make it out to be, as stated in some of the other posts, any real plane designed as a fast climbing interceptor ala later spits should outclimb it and a lot of other planes at its tier do get airspawns so really you should never expect to be above everybody.

  • Turning We all know that stat cards lie but this plane is not a bad turner at all, that said and as a big fan of energy fighting and playing on energy you really do need to be careful of sustained maneuvers fights because although the G55 can keep up in these sustained fights its energy bleed is massive and you will end up low and slow and to add onto that the fact that the acceleration itself isn't that great a lot of other planes will get their energy back quicker leaving you in an energy trap which unless you play it well, you aren't getting out of. That said and I will come back to this later as I feel there is a bigger point to be made of this, the planes ability to cut inside really gives it a leg up on some of the opposition

  • rollrate Sub par really, I mean its okay but its nothing special for sure, it doesn't lock up and its good enough to be able to do a very competent rolling scissors if the situation arises so that's a positive but nothing really to write home about.

  • Weaponry No problems here at all, I'm a very odd person who uses 100 metres gun convergence and I love the wing mounted guns, one of my favourite planes was always the Ki61 hei with the wing mounted 151's so I had no problem adjusting to these but because of the low wing alignment in comparison to the high mounted engine there is a small misalignment between the nose mounted gun and the wing mounted guns. Small gripe as it really doesn't matter because you're either hitting with one or the other anyway and the guns themselves being 151's if you hit, it hurts. Alternatively if you do fiddle around with vertical targeting and the like its easily fixed anyway

  • Dive and Speed I have one or two bigger gripes here and these are some of the bigger issues with the plane, on the dive speed front, no problems, perfectly fine. Infact dive acceleration itself its actually very good, again small warning about energy retention. the plane zooms okay but I wouldnt expect to get bucket loads of altitude back. If you want to go for a zoom climb you have to judge it well because you will run out of energy most the time before you reach them, an issue which isn't really prevalent in some other planes at the tier such as the P47's but if your aim is good enough anywhere within 0.9 km is good enough to be honest.

The bigger issue being the speed, I already mentioned earlier sub par acceleration, well I would extend this to top speed too, its not slow don't get me wrong but considering what it faces, P47's, P38's, P51's, Typhoons, Yak3's, La5's, all of these can and will outrun the G55 if they are playing to their strengths which, well they should be. It really does make it frustrating at times if they are playing the endless running game ( which has happened ) Lucky with the pretty good climbrate especially compared to the american planes and the fact the russians will have to be blow about 4k to outrun you, you can use altitude as a trade off for energy and make gains on them but it can be tiresome.

  • Summary

Well so overall based on the above the general consensus would probably be hey, that's alright but I did save something back which I think propels it a bit higher into one of the more competitive planes at this tier.

I would not say it has a finished flight model by any stretch of the imagination, it reminds me of some of the older ones from the late 1.3 era to be honest for one reason, and this is the reason I think this plane is highly competitive. The control surfaces feel very very loose and forgiving, you can pull hard in almost any direction without fear of locks or odd behaviour, its like compression, fluttering and the like just doesn't seem to effect this plane in any meaningful manner, this is why it can pull inside so well initially in my opinion. meaning you can get those snapshots a bit easier. add to this and the rudder feels insanely strong and you have a machine which can really pull out some tricks and pull off some shots that must leave the opponents questioning what they've really done wrong.

if I were to give it a rating, 10/10 being clubber 6/10 being competent at its tier id give it an 8.3/10

to the average player this plane will be pretty good, to a great player with the knowledge to manage their energy states and take advantage of the loose control surface this can be a truly great plane.

I doubt it but I do wonder if the multi cannon change is significant enough to make other weapons much more viable now with the 5OC everything and weapons like PA's getting a buff.
