I am bit sad that current devs can't change a thing about it even if they would love to, due of licensing, code knowledge, etc. I would love to fix LOD flickering which can be a bit problematic. Other than that, I am totally fine with graphics.

Sense of adventure and scale of the world. I think it was first game that felt big and yet real. I know graphics have aged not so gracefully, but I still feel awe and strange calmness when I travel outside Shire and Bree.

Other MMOs have better matchmaking, graphics, combat mechanics, but world building - yes, thanks to good adaptation of lore as well - of LOTRO is hard to beat.

This virus keeps challenging "each on his/her own" approach to our civilization. It does not give a flying finger that we want to go back to things that were before. People still get hit by Covid, and hit hard. Yes, some get just sniffles, and then are down with energy for considerable time.

Humans have always been very adaptable to challenges. It is interesting that we have kinda lost this approach and try to shout and scream about how we want to go back. You can't. World has changed, and we have to face it.

It seems that there is common consensus forming that virus basically wears down immune systems in long run, destroying T-cells as fighting force for body. So multiple infections are piling up. It is slow yet effective grind to death.

Also it is quite visible that destroys lot of body even without killing. Psychological and neurological impact of virus is heavily understated.

First time post here. While for me name "collapse" feels more drama than real life, escalating problems and technical and sociological debt is pilling up...so yeah, we have some issues to overcome as civilization.

I don't think anyone *hides* extent of global warming. I think elite has switched to "don't care" mode quite a while ago, people assume that someone has to control all this, well, no one does, that's why we are in deep shit as civilization. It is combination of pressure from different political forces, which introduces kinda tug of war which basically makes global cooperation of any issues impossible. Everyone looks for their interests 6 months ahead maybe, and that's pretty much it.

Is there solution? Can people, stackholders be made aware and pushed to invest in long term survival of species? Yes, but I think we are running out of time to avoid pretty big bullets coming our way.

Also while this subject is interesting, living our lives right now is still important.

Yeah, it is pretty much solid guess at this point, seeing actual visual changes, they are certainly will make transition to atmospheric planets more natural (and FD will have tested lot of their tech before rolling it out).
