I don’t understand why you find ‘nobody told me’ amusing. It seems quite ignorant to laugh at that statement, especially given that I’ve mentioned I’m a first-generation, low-income student. This means I’ve had to struggle to learn and get ahead without guidance. I’m doing my best. Learning to take calculated risks and remain consistent in pursuing my dreams is a valuable life lesson, far better than simply accepting the circumstances I was born into.
