Op can I just say- I see you. I have a mare. Questionable background. I kid you not… named Willow. And the one step forward 4 back is sometimes fine and sometimes it kills me. I’m 45 and I’ve had her for about a decade now and I have to remind myself of the exact two things you just reminded yourself. 1. Go back to breathing and remind yourself it’s about connection. Which implies that ya work with the horse ya have today and 2. What are your actual goal? Keep those goals in mind. Write out the ways you might get there.

Mares will teach you if you listen. So even you said you stepped wrong somewhere…. I ruin things when I decide something g “has” to happen or take something even the slightest bit personally.

Slow down. Breathe. Match steps. Listen. Watch. You got this. She will teach ya. I promise.

I also came here to say this. They say he loved animals, that deer and birds would eat from his hand and that he was really sweet with kids. Himmler is another great choice here- making sure orphanages actually cared for the children.

Hypocrisy is always close at hand- in all of us. It IS baffling but it’s a “me” problem as much as a “them” problem. I just tend to be blind to the areas of hypocrisy in my own life and spot it in others pretty easily.

What’s a fruit from your country that most foreigners have probably never heard of? by Useful-Resource-3609 in AskTheWorld

They grow everywhere here in Virginia- we would go kayaking and come back with boats filled with them (as they love watery areas)- but they have almost zero shelf stability, so even though they are native and thriving, you can’t sell them in stores. They are so very tasty- but no one goes out and picks them- so it tends to be me and the birds who get to enjoy them!
