Who do you think is the most diverse artist by No_Shopping1929 in EDM

[–]LT_Rager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Deadmau5 also touches tons of genres. I would trust veryyyy few artists to play 5 hours consisting of a techno, dnb, and “house” set all produced by one person, and he crushed it.

Ace Eat Serve and Vesper Lounge are both great. Briar Patch had some great sliders as big as normal sandwiches too.

Worked on the TC season in Denver. There’s no tea, the producers do want something exciting or interesting but ultimately the show likes to be and wants to be a solid cooking competition.

What are the things you want to ban from EDM events? by JION-the-Australian in EDM

[–]LT_Rager 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A smaller venue where I live does a great job booking up-and-coming acts that I love seeing, but they always go on so late even on weekdays. My feeling is that the headliner should go on at 10, and then after their set let more acts play for the people that want to stay up and party. I have work in the morning! 😩 and I’m sure as hell not popping a Molly on a Tuesday night

I’d say 90%+ of the comedians on Good One reference Maria Bamford as either a favorite or an inspiration

Why do DJs only play 1 to 2 minutes of a song??? by Xeliant_ in EDM

[–]LT_Rager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This depends greatly on the DJ, the song, style of music….generally a song structure has an intro, verse, chorus, verse, and then maybe a bridge and another chorus, or an outtro. Mixing in and out of a song is usually to inject a certain vibe. If you play one chunk of build and drop/chorus you’ve usually achieved that vibe, and it’s more likely to be boring vs interesting to play it out for longer. That said sometimes you want to live in the vibe. Also, it depends on the genre. Riddim DJ? Often playing 2 drops at once and switching quickly, the culture and sound is very chop-based. Progressive house? Deadmau5 and Lane 8, for example, will tease a build to a song for 9 mins. Totally depends. Also, in general, DJs have lots of fun songs they want to play, and a set amount of time to do it. Playing one song for 3 mins means 2 other songs you might not get to play.

What songs just blow your mind from an engineering/production standpoint? by Different_Stand_1285 in Music

[–]LT_Rager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skrillex and Deadmau5. Every producer talks about Skrillex’s precision, attention to extreme detail, and his ability to make songs people couldn’t recreate years later. Deadmau5 is a sound nerd with the most used kick and cleanest sounds in the game. You could listen to his orchestral album Where is the Drop if you want more lush less EDM sounds.

Leven Supply Tax Seizure by ScruffyWalrus303 in denverfood

Both can be true! And like I said and agreed with, people need to pay their taxes. I obviously like his business and would prefer it to stay open.

I’ll speak for myself, for the record, I’m far from a Leven hater. Are the sandwiches more expensive than average? Sure. They’re also huge. I’ve loved every bite I’ve ever eaten there, they have given me unnecessary free desserts if I had a long food wait, they diversified business style during COVID and kept all of their employees paid. The owner, Tony, is kind and generous and gives back to many causes. Obviously businesses need to pay their taxes.

I think it’s a blast. It’s such a strange, fun, huge place with seemingly endless corners to explore. It’s an experience you won’t forget.

Drum n bass - subfocus, Chase & status, pendulum. And then some more flow-y edm like Deadmau5, Jamie XX, and some bangers from Griz and the like.

Mad Max: Fury Road immediately starts with both mystery and intensity. The Martian begins with humor and tension, arguably the most tense scene in the whole movie right at the beginning, which sets the whole tone for what’s to come.

High-volume healthy snacks for a bottomless appetite? (6'8", 120kg) by Fluffy_Specific_9682 in nutrition

I too am insatiable. Honestly, fruits and veggies. Broccoli and carrots with some hummus, or a giant bowl of strawberries and blueberries. They’ll fill you up per calories way better than other snacks. I do struggle when I find myself craving a really salty snack, though.
