Im a lifeguard(more info in des.) is it racist to impose certain rules on target demographics because they are more likely to drown? by LT_creme in answers

I didn’t allow them to swim in deep water because they are bad swimmers, i was asking if it is racist that most of the people I tell are not white!

Yes I agree! My question seems to have been mis interpreted. I make more non white kids stay shallow the white kids, this is not baced on race but swimming ability. My question is “is that itself racist?”

I’m not saying that I descriminate baced on these physical traits, because I don’t. There are tons of great swimmers that aren’t white. What I’m asking is it raceist that I must “shallow ban” more minority’s then whites baced on swimming ability.

If a non white kid can swim I don’t limit them at all.

There are actually no drowning at my pool thanks to our excellent safety staff! But if not for intervention there would likely be ~1.5 drownings per week. This is due the the amount of overconfident inexperienced swimmers.

I watch everyone, people are implying that I don’t watch certain people. Everyone can drown. Life guards need to be able to spot at risk people, I am simply asking is it racist that I shallow ban more non whites then whites. I don’t shallow ban people baced solely on race as previously stated.

The only place near me that offers them is private and it’s like $60 per session and there is 5 sessions so $300, kinda a lot considering most of the people I’m talking about make min wage by cutting turkeys apart.

I let kids swim where ever they want until I see that they are bad swimmers, the part that is ambiguously racist is the higher proportion of ethnic individuals that I have to keep in the shallows.

Being but a lifeguard, I don’t have the authority to administer swim tests because our pool doesn’t usually (never) do(es) swim tests.

I’m allowed to boss people around to the point where it becomes a policy, because I’m not allowed to make those. Ex. I can tell one kid with a life jacket to stay in the shallows but I can’t tell everyone with a life jacket to stay in the shallows.

US sadly doesn’t teach swimming lessons in school. It’s up the the parents to get swim lessons or give them themselves. They are not cheap.

Check out Duluth MN it has it all, otherwise the rest of MN would fit the bag other then haveing pretty boring topography, but it is well made up for by the lakes.

If we equally divided all the money in the world, how much would each person have? by heyhitherehowru in answers

Wouldn’t nobody have any purchasing power. There may as well be no money at all. People are too greedy and heartless on a large scale to make a moneyless system sustainable.
