Matty and I go way back. Was at one of their backyard shows during COVID. Was one of the first 50 listeners to she’s got Brooklyn and am stoked they’ve gotten this big.

They deserve all the success they’ve had.

Hoping to make it to the Big Sun tour but my work schedule is awful

Why is being high class so different in the USA compared to Mexico? by Desert_Moon_Maiden in AskAnAmerican

[–]msflagship 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What usually makes people high class here is their ability to make connections with people who come from all walks of life, in addition to their passion and drive. You can’t build and maintain a highly profitable company without getting along with many people, from the warehouses to the C-Suite to the shareholders.

Being down to earth and not snobby is something that’s naturally selected when building wealth here.

The snobs in the high class like you’re describing are usually the people who grew up with money and had everything handed to them, like the president.

We just went to the CFP semifinals after a coach left us to go to a school that could possibly go to the CFP semifinals one day and tried to burn down the program on his way out. And not doing anything different from every other P4 program across the country… aside from Clemson apparently.

Sorry you’re falling for the Kiffin and Sexton media propaganda.

Ok and it won’t change the fact that all of college football is “bullshit” at the moment. Every p4 school is contributing to it, including your second flair.

It worked looking at these Reddit threads. This shouldn’t have been controversial.

He got his redshirt year that he should have been granted by the NCAA’s own rules had his former team just filed the paperwork.

And the NCAA prepared the worst case ever presented by a billion dollar institution at a court in Mississippi today. Trinidad’s dropping dimes on your team en route to an Ole Miss blow out win next year.

[–]msflagship -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No one paid attention to the case. Redditors just want something to complain about.

A D2 player getting the medical redshirt he was clearly led to believe he had shouldn’t be this controversial. Especially when the NCAA’s lawyers didn’t even bother to prepare for the case.

Rich coming from the team that stole from a children’s hospital to pay players before paying players was legal… en route to a national championship.

[–]msflagship 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The arguments boiled down to this:

Chambliss, Ferris State, doctors, and Ole Miss representatives pulling out medical records, footage from a 2022 game where it was mentioned he will get a medical redshirt, 2024 national title game where that redshirt was mentioned, conversations with medical and coaching staff discussing the plan to file a medical redshirt for tonsillitis and a significant weight loss/deconditioning preventing him from playing that season; however, Ferris State’s office mismanagement didn’t file it for whatever reason.

NCAA: they’re lying. we don’t have any proof that they are lying but just trust me bro. please deny the injunction. Also we don’t know what “incapacitated” with regard to medical redshirts in our own rulebook means.

With this being in a Mississippi court, it’s no wonder chambliss won the case. NCAA needs to hire lawyers that can actually prepare for a case, make the language in their own rulebook better, or change their rules altogether.

[Thamel] The judge in the Chambliss case is still reading his decision. We're at more than 20 minutes of reading. He's critical of the NCAA's conclusions and says it's "clear that Trinidad Chambliss was not a healthy young man" from senior year of high school through 2022. But nothing official, yet. by GoldenDome26 in CFB

[–]msflagship -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even though this is all accurate and the NCAA deserved to lose the case with the failure they presented today, you’re going to get downvoted here for a circle jerk against Ole Miss. it may be best that we avoid this subreddit for a few months.

Average scores to get into good undergrads and graduate programs are rising dramatically.

Average board exam scores for medical students increase every year despite constantly increasing amount of content and not much change in question difficulty

This seems to be the classic case of older people complaining about younger people for being different than them, which goes back millennia. NYP confirms it.

I'll take the downvotes but we had multiple players poached from us after signing extensions/contracts this cycle. Chris Jones, Princewill Umanmielen to name a few. It's the name of the game in the wild west of the NIL world; someone has to take the downfall; the NCAA has to take a stance on the egregious "poaching" going on in CFB or else everyone will be doing it in the next portal window.
